Urgent: can anyone tell me regarding accord 2003 cl9 auto gear issue ? Second shift jerks /jolts and driver can feel serious jerk. I heard that that issue will increase in future and transmission will have to be replaced which costs 80-100k?

Is it true ?

Seller is selling one car like this so that's why I am asking if he's hiding the issue and it could cost me heaps?

Havent had this issue. But its not a good sign. Moreover, transmission cost is not 80-100k. Should be around 40-60k. @rizwanasim78 or @fahdahmad may be able to guide better, as they were having similar issues as far as I remember.

Happens when the transmission filter is choked and you keep using it. But another thing you have to realize is that these are old model cars. Recent models of civic, corolla etc have much smoother cvt trannies. So it might be a normal gear shift and you feel the jerk coz you are comparing it to some recent auto car you have driven.
But yes, it can be a serious issue that will cost you around 60k or so.

So how to install cruise control on my car? I am getting different opinions about it. Some say i will have to get the whole module. Other say i just have to get the steering with the controls and attach the wiring to the ecu as all cl9s have this feature built in.

Had same issue and at the end had to replace transmission.. Costed 60k... Don't take chance if you feel jerk .... It is worn out from inside... You can get both Solenoids checked...

Is it a factory issue ? The jerk is quite serious on second shift . The seller is lying that previous owner changed transmission oil which should never be changed and then this problem occurred.

Most probably that jerk will keep increasing and can break foundations, eventually transmission will die in a few months.

Should I decrease my offer and buy that car so I'll fix the issue myself or should I look for a clean car without any issues? Thanks

Then it probably is the tranny. You can go both ways. Decrease the offer or find another one. You know approx cost. Decrease offer by about 100k

If the car is neat and well kept, you can decrease your offer and change the gearbox later.

Most probably internal issue.. I had the same jerk from 1st to 2nd gear.. Rest were fine... Tried changing fluid thrice and changed solenoids and pressure switches but it did not improve. One fine morning it gave up then changed it. Gear costed about 40k including old plus 8 liters transmission fluid plus labor... Around 60 k. But keep budget of 100k as engine oil + coolant and other small parts like crank pully, water body, VTEC and VTC stainers, plugs and mounts may also need replacement depending on condition. Engine will come out so you understand that many issues may surface..
Also share pics and price of ride you are interested so worthy members here may guide you further.
