Advice required (Honda city 2007)

20w50 is too thick for this car and API of havoline 20w50 is SG i guess.

Bad choice i would say.

I had checked with a mechanic ,whom told me that piston ring of any one of valve is worn out.So i decided to change the piston rings and now Ahamdulillah the oil reduction problem is eliminated.Previously i has been using Havoline 20W50 and now iam using ZIC A+ 10W30 and there is no issue.This cost me around 9000 rupees (1500Rs TP standard size ring set, 3200 Rs gasket original , 2200Rs mobiloil ZIC A+ and rest is mechnic labour cost).
But be sure that mechanic must be competent otherwise you will hear many difrrent sounds from your car enginee which should not there in Honda enginee.
Any way good thing which i observed about Honda engine was that even on worn out rings the valves and piston sleeve was in very good condition.

What about the knocking that you mentioned in one of your posts, is that gone or still present?

Dear bro! Sound is still there ans according to mrchanic its because of tappet or timing chain .coming week the mechanic shall remove the sound i will tell you after my car got rpaired.

Model 2007 and rings torn out :o, what is the mileage on the car ?

@ahmadbaloch , reduction in engine oil is normal. if u have its manual , u can read this in it. as for which oil, i am also using honda oil normal one not synhetic one.
Mobil 1 is good but is .expensive and it runs for 10k. recommended in manual is 10-30 0r 10-40.

Oil may run for 10K but what about oil filter ?

Use profi-car performance 20w50 oil originally Germany oil

Dear i live in sargodha but i know technitian in pindi i will check his contact number and tell you.Moreover do not worry it will be nothing.But as far as oil is concarned please do not use 20/50 it is not recomended for such model cars.I had driven that car for 80000Km after rings replacment and sold it.Still that car engine is in good shape i had been using ZIC A+.

I have Honda city 2008 automatic. Its around 150,000 driven. Few months back I noticed the engine is reducing oil. I went to Honda and they said to use a thicker oil. I am now using shell 2050. On local the car does not reduce oil ( may be because drive is less around 20Km daily in Islamabad) but on long it still reduces oil. What can be the issue?

I dont know about engine and stuff. Can anyone guide a good honest mechanic where I can get it checked?

I am new here
I have Honda city IDSI Model 2005, I am worried about its mileage its giving me 8 to 9 km/ltr in the city while 12/13 at highway. Early its millage was good 12/13 within city 16/17 at highway. I have removed Cng kit because of no usage, I was thinking by this act I will cash more millage but I become disappointed...
Any help /advice regarding thisMy mechanic told me that rings of your vehicle engine are weak and its reducing engine oil consistently ... Is this a major reason for low mileage ???

change spark plugs first then engine oil to 5w-30 honda one
