A once mighty country, completely destroyed by the Russian war and all that followed... Taliban weren't the main people who destroyed it, the Russians and the Americans ruined it far before the Taliban.

If you read my previous posts, you'll know that I agree with you. The Russians and Americans tore the country apart (and Uncle Sam is still at it for whatever geo political reasons), but the taliban hammered the last nail in the coffin by imposing their radically primitive ways of life on the already distressed and impoverished Afghan people.

radically primitive ways of life? i wont call it that. just because their laws dont conform with the so called acceptable european norms doesnt make it radically primitive. if Afghans hated Talibans so much, the occupation of Afghanistan by america would be a piece of cake. people who have lived among afghan taliban like Yvonne Riddley have actually praised them so much and were impressed by them that they accepted Islam.

anyways afghanistan was destroyed long time before talibans emerged. instead of helping talibans rebuild it, america and her allies are destroying what is left of this poor country

Depriving women of education and work? Public execution and flogging? The killing or flogging of men who don't wear beards? Instant execution of anyone who defies them? Bans on ANY kind of entertainment? How on Earth can this be considered anything but primitive and radical in today's day and age? It's not about European norms or the American way of life or whatever you like to call it, it is about basic human rights. It's as simple as that.

Big fish in a small pond. The taliban (for the most part) don't know any better. They have no idea what lies beyond their warped and ultra-orthodox version of their faith. They have no idea what peace and respect to all human beings irrespective of faith is about. Accepting (or do you mean 'converting' to?) Islam is vastly different from accepting and adhering to the ways of the taliban. To me, the taliban is a breed of wild animal, not even remotely human. This is clear to me so let's not even go there.

Ideally speaking, women anywhere should be allowed to wear what they feel like wearing, in my humble opinion. I love Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan, FYI. Stop putting words in my mouth, and open your eyes.

Allah has promised a dreadful Penalty for those Muslims who speak and/or act against Islamic teachings.

Q.16: 106 Any one who, after accepting faith in Allah, utters Unbelief,- except under compulsion, his heart remaining firm in Faith - but such as open their breast to Unbelief, on them is Wrath from Allah, and theirs will be a dreadful Penalty.

Muslim countries want Western Democracy system which is against Islam as it brings women and non-Muslims at par with Muslim men, means everybody has equal status.

See the status of Non-Muslims they are not to befriend and have to pay Jizya by feeling downcast in an Islamic state

9:29 "Fight those who believe not in God nor the Last Day nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by God and his apostle nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth (even if they are) of the people of the Book, until they pay the Jizya [religious tax] with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

3:28, Let not the believers Take for friends or helpers Unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah.

5:51: O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.

And there will be some people who will stay near the side of a mountain and in the evening their shepherd will come to them with their sheep and ask them for something, but they will say to him, 'Return to us tomorrow.' Allah will destroy them during the night and will let the mountain fall on them, and He will transform the rest of them into monkeys and pigs and they will remain so till the Day of Resurrection."


On the authority of Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) it is reported that the Messenger of Allah said: "The most severely punished of people on the Day of Resurrection will be those who try to make the like of Allah's creation (pictures, statues)." (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)

There wouldn’t be any need for so called religious fundamentalism to take over Afghanistan if it weren’t for 30 years of wars. That is in no way to condone religious fundamentalism.... BTW religious fundamentalism isn’t exclusive to Muslims.

If you look at the pics of ladies of Old Afghanistan, you can understand why Today's Afghanistan is suffering so much!!!!

Women have always been an sign of test and a strong reason of turmoil.

Be ready, we're also heading towards a similar future. If you don't believe me, watch your TV carefully! Aren't our women wearing similar outfits?
