Airblue or Shaheen .... Which to prefer! Why?

Ok i have travelled in both air lines from karachi to islamabad..although i have travelled in shaheen 2 times in my life as compared to airblue in which i have travelled once...here is my xperience..

The first time i travelled in shaheen was from islamabad to karachi in 2002.My seat had peanuts and other food items stuck in between of the seats..the air conditioning didnt work..I thought to myself this is the worst aeroplane i have ever been to..A very uncomfortable flight...

I travelled in Airblue while ging from karachi to islamabad back in 2006.I hadnt heard of Airblue before so i guessed it was a new aviation company.I personally thought it was one of the best aeroplanes i ever travelled in..The AC was one of the best and there was also the radio ..though there was no tv which was a bit of a con..but still it was one of the best domestic flights i had taken..

Then in 2009 I,along with my family had to go to islamabad.My mother said we will go in shaheen but i forced her to opt for airblue...she said that there was a 2000 rs difference in the ticket and shaheen was cheaper..she said that shaheen was not the same like it was 7 years ago and that it had improved by a large margin..i reluctantly agreed.I boarded the plane and had a bad feeling beforehand...I was really surprised at the rudeness of the crew..i was moving along and the airhost (a guy) tells me to put my bag in the upper storage space. I dunno what his problem was but when i was putting the baggage in the upper compartment,he tells me in a loud and rude voice: "Zaraa jaldi karienge aap!!!!".I along with others were shocked at how rudely he was treating the travellers...then when i was placing it and trying to fit it in the small compartment ,he tells me to fir it vertically..I try to fit it in then he says:"Yaar isko vertically rakho..vertical means seedha..english nai aati?" I lost my cool there and then screamed at him"This is your job not mine you ass hole".Everyone was looking at us and he himself was surprised that i could answer back.For the rest of the flight,the AC didnt work and i was sitting with a man in shalwar kameez who was sweating and smelly..For the return trip i told my mom that if u wanna go in shaheen then i will go in train..

So i can assure you that its better in a train then shaheen...and about airblue i really dont know if it has changed to better or worse in the past 3 yearsw but i can assure you that my experience 3 years back was wonderful...If you are asking about international flights then singapore airlines or PIA has no comparision

Well according to my experience ..shaheen has old planes and the air pockets really shake the plane in the sky but the service is good..they leave on time ..Airblue has better planes and good service but the food is terrible. PIA on the other hand is the worst of them all...

serivce wise both are equal though airblue has a fleet of brand new Airbus A320 aircrafts whereas
Shaheen houses 25 year old Boeing 737s

I travelled alot of time by PIA, AIr BLUE i like PIA although Servic is better in Air Blue but food in both is not good as its domestic and short flight, while PIA Planes are better as compared to Air Blue, while Shaheen is like going by Bus while its sort of flying experience. Air Blue is bit cheaper but if you buy PIA ticket on time then nothing is like PIA. PIA food if on Lunch time then Biryani is superb while snacks are just Ok, while Air Blue any time food is not good as it should be.

I travelled on Air Blue on it's third flight ever on LHE-KHI sector. On return journey from KHI we got through the check in desk only to see the plane leave without us but took our bags. We were accommodated on another flight after a few hours. Upon arrival at LHE the operations manager himself met us to apologise for what happened and offered a free upgrade from economy to business class whenever we travelled next time. That was very impressive. Their service was also very nice and food was also good. This was very impressive from an airline that was not even a week old at that time.

The second time I travelled by Air Blue was to Dubai in Sept 2006. When I was at the check in desk at Lahore I was told my seat has been allocated to someone else by mistake. They were kind enough to upgrade to Business Class on the same flight even though I had Economy ticket.

For me Air Blue has impressed both the times, I would recommend it highly.

^^but they have ended Bussiness Class now..i think because of people like u :tongue3: :lol ahhahahhaha..always travelling in bussiness class on economy ticket :lol: jk

the only gud thing abt PIA is their breakfast....which i simply love rest, it sux big time

to be honest, all the airlines in Pakistan are just loads of crap. as long as their is no emergency, i never travel by air in Pakistan. 99 percent of the times i go by road in my own car, doesnt matter how far it it. have traveled from Quetta to Islamabd 3 times in last year alone

Airblue is much better than Shaheen air. Because Airlblue is having new A320 and shaheen air with B737-200 which are over 30 years old.

But we can even not compare Airblue with PIA because PIA is best among all.

I don't know what kind of survey is being conducted as the answer is quite obvious. Comparing Pak Suzuki with Honda and asking which one is better. Almost all the forumers here have replied the same and if you ask anyone who travel frequently he'll tell you the same story. Airblue is way better than Shaheen, no comparison at all.

I travel a lot domestically, sometimes on PIA sometimes Airblue and I've liked Airblue more than PIA in terms of everything. The only advantage PIA seems to have is that the airport authorities, the CAA, give priority to PIA planes in terms of landing and departure timings, like in cases when they have to chose which flight to board first, they will give preference to the national carrier. But these days PIA flights are still getting late more often due to its inefficiencies, useless staff (mostly jiyalas now) and the presence of govt. officials/MNAs etc that arrive for departure at their own times, delaying flights. So Airblue should be the clear choice in terms of domestic departure.

For Late flights AIR Blue is more severe then any other as they have been operating same plane whole day between ISB-KHI and it delays as with me 3 times more then 3-5 hrs delay i have faced and once in Emergency thy did this.

i got a chance to travel by shaheen air from iran to pak in march...i still can feel the shakes whch the aircraft gave all the way!!:(..Allah was only 2kms:(...and above all crew announced that our flight is facing some difficulties n its usual so dn be frightened!!!:o
