There was a time, I thought about a tracking device when I bought this car. But never installed it.

as its located inside cantt premises go n make sure you MP sees all the CCTV footage. even if the thieves had hidden it inside the cantt and plan to take it out after couple of days then make sure all black rollas are checked. feel v sorry for your loss bro.was there at the same cafe last week till midnight as there was no light in the guest room lolzz.my youngest loves Sindbad and ever since was saying she wants to go to SALALKOT!! was planning to go again this weekend again

Here's the funny part. I am suffering and doing everything to trace my car.

Since my car has a GPS navigation installed by the Indus (company fitted). I assume that if the vehicle is on the road and turned ON then navigation system must be communicating with satellite. So, I called Indus to see if they can track or locate. The person at Indus Motor said, that the company who installed the Navigation should be able to track it. Then I said, its Indus who installed it. He was like, no, no, the company who made the navigation. So, I ask for their contact. I think it was DPS navigation something like that, I called them but no help at all.

As far I understand, a vehicle with NAVIGATION SYSTEM is communicating with the satellite then its location should have been traceable via Navigation. Isn't it?

Well I am not sure but for car nav to work like a phone at least 3/4 sat communication is required. You are right. The car communicate with the satellite but its in encrypted data between car and satellite. All these nav companies don't have their own satellites.. They are contracted with others. So DPS manufacture but its not important its their own satellite. Like Honda satellite link in Honda cars but they are contracted with Navteq. If in case we explore this. We need to know the serial number of the device communicating. I have no idea about DPS. Who manufacture and from where they get the feed. Is this an after market?

if u registered an FIR in nearest police station, wait for a call
thieves might call to strike a deal/cash for car

I thought Altis had immobiliser. Still the car got stolen. I heard it's impossible to steal a car with immobiliser.

Altis has no immobilizer bro that's the irony. With Toyota charging you over 2 million and no immobilizer. Sorry for your loss OP, may you get your car back quick Ameen.

I did file an FIR. Hope Police do their job.

Police station is about 1.5km from the location (estimated).
I went there to report the incident. Person sitting at the desk couldn't find a paper to write the report. I had to arrange the white paper from a shop, for him.

Unbelievable that corolla don't include immobiliser as a standard option even though it's a favourite for thieves. I'll never buy it because there is no peace of mind. Sorry for you bro. Hope you recover it soon. Did you get insurance
