Umair I am also planning a similar trip with my friends in 2nd week of November with my 3 friends , my plan is to visit GB region , as you know the babusar route shall be closed during that period and I shall be using KKH , I have never driven on mountainous region before though I have visited Naran in 2011, I plan to drive straight to Islamabad and find some decent hotel in adjoining area or murree rest and continue along murree express road, kohala , muzaffarabad , balakot , besham, chilas and reach hunza.. We want to enjoy the joy of long travel with freedom to stop wherever we want to and whenever we want to something which I have definitely missed in my previous tours .. I have got new tires , engine oil, gear oil, filters , brake pads, fan belt for my car and radiator service is the only thing remaining .. I want to ask you and people who travel regularly that is KKH safe to travel for us ? What about ethnic and sectarian terrorism? And how bad is the road from chilas till raikot bridge ? Is it doable ? I am a very safe driver and I maintain my car more than I maintain myself :P.. I wanted to visit in September but due to family reasons couldn't and now we don't have the option for babusar pass .
