agreed ..I have worked in Honda Atals cars (200~2006) and i know the process for vendor selection and local parts approval procedure.
Now a days i am also working in tyre factory of 2 wheelers (tube tyre and tube less ) , During customer survey i have come to know that product quality also matter but "mechanic and shop keepers matters a lots " for sale of product .
Peoples usually changed the tyre immediately (in General case ) and many companies have policy to "changed the tyre " of their company provided vehicles if cars have "General Tyre ".
Then shop keeper advise the owners to change the tyre with 185 , 195 and 205 just for nothing , because 175 tyres are not available in market (little qty import ).
No body knows about the rim width which play a vital role for tyre and car performance , narrow the "rim width " will reduce the road grip and increase the tyre abrasion and wider the rim width increase the road grip as well increase the fuel consumption .
