I think BR-V is going to be locally manufactured, I have been hearing about this for over a year now. If they wanted to import it, they'd have done months ago. I think they can produce it just one day a month and still meet demand for starters.

Base model shouldn't be more than 2.0 million and should have CVT, no need for a manual gear box.

I concur with you. My source said the same thing about the BRV when the civic turbo launch was in speculation last year.

No authenticity of the news but I am told by someone who is vendor.. Honda is not ready for assembly of BRV.. they will import some units.. and see the market reaction.. later they might do local assembly.

So let's see if they are bringing CBU at this time or announcing future assembly.

The vendors themselves don't know the parts they're producing are for the BR-V. It was called "Model X" back in October and Vendors had already started making the parts for it. Dies and tooling were all completed in October. It will be locally manufactured.

It would not less thn the 3.0 million mark bracket. The city aspire 1.5 auto costs some 1.9 million now. They cant put it in competition with their own products.

So finally it's official. BR-V is coming very soon. It's got alloys, DRLs, steering wheel and key less entry and auto mirrors like the civic. Let's see what engine it has. They might offer both the 1.8 and 1.5T or the old 1.5 from city. It looks good, will be a hot buy at 2.0 million or less.

It's 1.5 , 118hp engine same as City.. there is no other engine options except diesel. India , Phillipines, Thailand, Indonesia.. all get same 1.5 engine.. no 1.8.. no 1.5T..

It's not very much welcomed in India though..

Seems like the horizontal tail light section under the back windscreen is chrome. Maybe it is to cater to local tastes or a reflection of the studio lights above.

I liked the horizontal tail light running the entire width of the car, why does HACPL step away from international specs. What do you think?

I hope they dont strip it too much from international variants, ie the include push start etc. Disappointed though that even international variants (as far as I could tell) doesn't have cruise control. Given that one would go on long trips with family it should have been standard.

I think even on top of the line ASEAN model there is no Cruise Control. Although there is a push button start.

There is no backup camera as far as I know. And I don't know what head unit is coming. Let's see

There is a backup camera on up spec thai, philipino, indonesian and malay models. Only indian top spec models missed out on a screen and camera.
