For everyone thinking BRV is a GAARI SE KAM PAISON MAIN JEEP: in reality its a station wagon type of a vehicle which maybe wonderful option slightly affordable for bigger families and people who want practicality of usage. But please don't think of it as an SUV. Its an alternative to Avanza, more like an MPV or a respectable Bolan which fulfills the purpose of carrying lot of people.

In the Test Drive video they have shown this Interior. Will we get audio steering switches in BR-V? Is it the same interior that we are going to get?

Vitara is an SUV, though it is a light suv. It has 4 wheel drive, large cargo room, off-road ability,
elevated seats and bigger tyres. What else is required to classify a vehicle, an suv?

No Sir, Vitara isn't an SUV. It has a unibody chassis. SUVs have frames not a unibody. SUVs are stuff like Surf, Fortuner, Pajero and so on etc. Just having 4wd and high road clearance doesn't make it an SUV.

The All Wheel drive Vezel or HrV also makes it an SUV according to this criteria you mentioned which doesn't really make it an SUV

By that logic, would you declassify Range Rover as an SUV? It moved from a ladder to unibody chassis some time ago.

Please add VW Touareg to the list of unibody chassis too, I am assuming all the Audis like the Q7, Q5 and lower are unibody too.

You are not getting the point here and proving this debate isn't exactly something I would like to waste my time here. You can go ahead and keep calling BRV and Suv. Doesn't harm me at all.

And by way just for the record, Q7 and Q5 are classified as full sized CUVs

i fully agree with you my friend. just the logic seemed a little flawed.
BRV is an MPV no doubt about that, Vezel is a CUV and the Vitara (once reduced in size and capability in its latest iteration) is nothing more than a soft roader rather than an off roader.

I just did not see how the frame on ladder vs unibody logic classifies one as an SUV or a CUV.

you must be correct Q7 is a CUV, i only assumed since its directly based on VW Touareg.

Getting to the BRV. In my opinion its a good option for local school runs, shopping and cargo utility stuff and if I had the money I would consider it as a good option to replace my domestic run around car.

Sell your 2007 civic. And dive into the mpv pool. I too am considering either prius alpha or brv (only once it's launched and I see the quality and features). 7 seaters bring you unparalleled utility as city run abouts.

Yes it does sound like an ideal scenario but the price difference would be twice straight away. Rather a bit more so I guess will wait and see till finances seem feasible to buy a BRV. Also to be honest Atlas as a company is putting me off now.

Atlas is losing a lot of loyal customers with their attitude and time will tell if I get added to the list of those lost customers. I know it doesn't matter to anyone specially Atlas but still. And like you said, let BRV hit the roads

Oh and by the way, every imported car I have ever kept has proven to massively depriciate. Well most of them. Still have a Prius S-Led and haven't been exactly getting courage to sell it because of the depriciation Prius offers in just 2 years. Same case lies with almost all Japanese cars apart from Vitz. And Alpha being slightly out of market may offer an even bigger issue unless you plan to keep it for a very long span of time.

you are absolutely correct about the depreciation, but 7 seater options are in short supply. long term over 5 years is the plan, so keeping a JDM hybrid might not affect me that much. lets see what the future holds.
i got inspired by your civic restoration and for 6 months i searched for an old 7 seater Gen 1 Pajero to give a new dimension as iv never owned a proper 4x4 diesel SUV (day dreamed of northern and balochistan coastal tours from karachi). there were no reasonable cars so now i'm on to brv and alpha (which limit the trips but will be great for city trips with a family of 5 adults and 2 kids).

yes, altas is on a slippery slope from the prebooking antics they played last year with civic and again with brv.
sadly, customers are repeating the impulse booking behavior and encouraging these tactics. i dream of the day when consumer rights are given highest priority and such tactics are banished.

Not just the booking and stuff, my Civic X driver side window rolls up at a snails speed and its been 3 months I have filed a warranty complaint, no updates yet. During the same time passenger window rolls full up while driver one has only climbed one third. It just might not go up altogether some day. Now just for a simple under warranty motor replacement I will go through the trouble of finding a safarish in after sales.

Only God knows what quality they will give in a locally produced 2.3 million CUV. That's a big question mark with BRV. I am seriously dreading the future of my favourite till now Honda badge in PKDM market. I hope the new entrants on their way bring good products to set these monoply holding manufacturers right where they should be.

That's a load of hassle, changing cars. Unorthodox methods of Atlas booking and delays OR own and secondly, the cancellation and re application of all entry passes for clubs, residential entrances and security etags for canttonment etc is a a pain staking process. The window is only one issue with particular unit I got, so that is easier for me. And an issue or another is always possible with cars even those manufactured now. Also the gradual stuff I added like tyres, aftermarket seats, leather wrapped steering and coating etc will be a repeat process and loss of money.
