Assalam u Alaikum everybody. My query is specifically for BR-V owners. the car has been driven 756 km but the average consumption is very low. The odometer reading is 8.6 km/l and my calculation is 8.1 km/l according to fuel tank and distance driven that is 39 liters used and 314 km driven and all driven in city with ac.
Kindly guide me if there is something wrong with the mechanics of the car. Honda North (Peshawar) is not cooperating, they just said it will get better with time but gave no specifics. I would really appreciate a proper guidance. Thank you!

Consumption is totally depending on driving style and road.
I have driven about 1800KM, my minimum with AC in local is 11km/l where as Maximum i got without AC and non stop up to 90km/h speed was 20km/l

In normal condition it gives 12km/l to 16km/l.

When you reach your desired speed slightly reduce accelerator, it will change the gear ratio and echo indicator will on. If you push accelerator it sense that you need more power and gear ratio will be lower.
This is what i learn by driving BRV.

Thank you malik_malik. I maybe the slowest driver in peshawar. From the day we drove it out of the showroom the ECO indicator is must for us. I never thrashed the acceleration even for an overtake. I read all that was available about CVT transmission and am trying to adapt in an efficient way ti drive the car. I read a lot of post above that suggested at least 10 km/l for a brand new car, so I was just worried a little about our car's consumption. Anyhow i would try to further improve my driving skills as efficient but if anyone else is also suffering from this issue kindly share so that we find a solution. Thanks!

I am having same problem I purchased BRV on 12 August and driven it 500 km yet. Didn't tried on long route yet. In city it is showing around 6.5 km/l with AC while actual consumption is around 5.5 km/l which in my opinion is far less. I contacted Honda Centre and they said its OK the milage and consumption will be adjusted once I go for 5000 km inspection and oil change. Not satisfied with answer anyone having any idea what's wrong and how to get it corrected

I had other issues apart from high fuel consumption like lack of acceleration when you needed the most while overtaking etc. I think BRV have some generic issue with its CVT compatibility with its 10 years old engine technology for that Honda needs to look into. I actually sold my BRV due to this slow responsiveness and prefer to keep my 6 year old Honda city.

Try changing your fuel station also, the fuel may not be up to the mark or the pump might be cheating you. This is also a possibility

Yesterday I traveled 30 km on islamabad expressway at speed 70-80 avg was 16km/l

Yes another thing that you will notice with time is that there is no light in the steering, & window buttons. I found it irritating but then got used to it within a few days as it is daily driven. Had many long drives in it and its a best buy in this price.

steering buttons are quite useful . button light isnt big issue. wat is the the price of floor matting ?
