I was holding onto silence, but too tired to have a firm grip.
Its my point of view. So nothing is against anyone. I think price should be a little negotiable. If someone wants to enjoy this car and is willing to buy, the buyer and seller should come to some accord that should mutual benefit.
I i take my CIVIC to a dealer here in Lahore, i get a value of 700,000. If i go as a buyer for the same car to a dealer in Lahore, he wants me to pay 900,000+. So from seller's and buyers perspective are different.
Now if i see a car 35000 driven or 135000 driven, i surely see first if it has proper maintenance record with an authorized dealer, and it hasn't met any major accident. A car gone 35000 without a change in oil at proper time is not a deal any better than 100000+ driven car with proper maintenance.
I also hate it when people say that this car is worth so much because its not painted. It is foolish thinking in this part of this world that people do not even keep their rides clean to claim this. The first paint is not done by angles on sky, nor it has a standard as refined as for Mercedes or BMW. Sorry guys but that's a fact. A repaint from dealer to keep car clean of scratches is not a big deal until it has no major accident. But it would respect a ride that has been kept clean and an effort is visible. I would respect such a person as he is really taking care of his ride, and would be willing to pay a little extra knowing that i am paying for something that is at the mercy of others. But still repaint is not what makes a car's worth.
The main thing that is considered is model and make, and maintenance record. 7th Gen CIVIC, particularly D16, is not a something you start comparing with 2011-CITY or COROLLA. D16 just outperforms these two.
But remember that i would buy a car for a higher price if
1- I can afford it
2- I like it better -or it is better - than what i can get in this price tag
3- I can afford to lose the difference (as insurance company would also not be willing to deal with it), or when i sell it, i would not be paid what i paid
4- I am planning to keep it for long, and know that unless very undesirable situation i am occupied with, i would keep it and would be happy with that.
5- I would not be upset if it breaks down soon (that can even happen to a new car)
6- The key point is that i am satisfied with this price
