Isnt it better just to get a supercharger to provide low rpm boost to minimize lag and increase low end torque?? I think this wud be better than ALS.

Turbo any dayy yh misfiring system too but some ppl put flamthrower systems to make it look like there cars turbo an they have als ive seen couple ov civics but it makes the car much heavier from what ive heard an flames upto 20 feet so this is what they use in movies like fast an the furious in stock cars the flame makes it look fasterr

yup bro people try to imitate it but the real thing is loud as hell with glowing exhaust pipes. so i'll take the real thing over the ricey flame kits

Very informative thread, I'd go through it in detail when i get time, but i think i got the basic concept, Regardless of all the complexities a turbo charged engine might have, It's still addictive once you've driven it,

All i can say is that a best way to start a day would be a few early morning loud backfires from a boosted engine :P,

no problem bro , just sharing a few real concepts of turbocharger efficiency and its applications

and yeah it's really awesome to turn over your engine and hear it pop and bang, but these things give your turbos and full exhaust system from the extractors to the tail pipe alot of stress and due to metal fatigue your exhaust system is only good for 50-100km run. and i doubt your neighbours won't be very pleased with a loud popping and banging wake up call. hehe:P

the main reason ppl have it to not lose power while shifting thats why it goes bang when u shift soundss soo good in a evo heres a clip i kno the guy who owns the car an he also has a single turbo skyline and a supra seen in the video

Changing the exhaust pipe every 100KMs is fine by me as long as i get to have a heavy pocket and a good bang :P,

As for the Neighbours part, So let them scream after all who will hear them in between those Bangs and Dangs

Just a few comments I'd like to make though. Not all flames come from the ALS. The Diablo, Ferrari, the BMW and the Elise are doing what's called an "overrun". It's where the throttle is shut right after a full load / full RPM run. When you close throttle, vaccuum is created in the intake manifold. Fuel that has deposited on the walls of the intake evaporates suddenly due to reduction in pressure. However, this mixture can't burn since it is too rich. This hot, rich mixture goes out the exhaust where when it mixes with the ambient air, catches fire. Thus, the flames.

Sir , im very impressed i was really bummed out when nobody could tell the difference between valve overlap and ALS flames , bravo sir,(Y) very keen obsevation. only a few handful would know the difference.
