It's an old thread but is still relevant for me somehow. I have shortlisted a few for my Altis 2018 and have shortlisted the same almost.

My first concern is to go with offical import and the shortlisted size is 215/55/R16. My preference (in no particular order) is as below.

1. Continental UC6 from J Rashid (offical dealers of General tires (the current importer)
2. Yokohama BluEarth GT AE51 from ZAMS / Sheikh Brothers (official Dealer)
3. Michelin Primacy 4 (yet to find official dealer)
4. Pirelli Cinturati P7 ( yet to find official dealer)
5. GoodYear EfficientGrip (Pak Punjab Tyre claiming to be a dealer)
6. Yokohama Bluearth ES32

   .
   .
7. Yokohama Advan DB v552 (tired of seeing this everywhere)

Also, does the country of manufacturer matter if it's an official import? I drive mostly on motorway and rest on decent Lahore roads. I'm very careful with bumps, cat eyes etc.

As long as it's official n genuine tire, country doesn't matter.

Go for continental ultracontact 6 or premium contact 6. If you want super comfy and noiseless ride then none other then advan db v552. Grip wise advan db v552 is moderate.

I have experience of Ultracontact 6. Sometimes, while driving in rain at motorway I even felt more grip then I get on a dry surface at 100km/h. 20k kms driven and a perfect combination of comfort/grip.
Don't bother much about manufacturing it will be a same tyre, I got conti uc6 which was made in Portugal.

Also, do you 215 is a reasonable size or is it too big?

I have driven a grande FL on primacy 4s for around 2-3K km and it is a great tire. Low noise levels and good comfort. Grip was also good for normal driving in wet and dry, of course I didn’t do any track testing
I shifted these to my Civic X when the grande was replaced and they are great on this one too.
215 is perfect but in 55 profile.

My 1.6 Altis is on its way and a friend of mine (who bought a similar vehicle in mar and switched to blue earths) wants me to switch to blue earth 215/55. Just want to know if it's ok to increase from 205 to 215 and any other option instead of blue earth.

Drive original yokohama tyres. They're good for 40k kms, no need for spending money on tyres. Plus it will keep your warranty intact.

No. Nobody used it. Yes 215 size is very reasonable, and it will not affect anything.

Got my 1.6at a few days back. Have driven it around 200km. All good but the tyres seem to be on the hard side. I feel road noise despite not the fact I haven't really floored it as such. Any advice?.

So I got myself GoodYear EfficientGrip Performance in 215/55/R16 size. Toyota recommended air pressure is 33 PSI on stock tires and the Tire dealer recommends 30. I tried to compare both and ended up having 33 PSI as per car manufacturer's advice but used Nitrogen this time. During high speed driving I feel 33 is a bit on higher side.

Is there a standard calculation method to change the pressure according to the increased size? Somewhere on internet I found that it is actually to be calculated with Ride weight and a few more factors. Is there an easier method of doing so?

In nutshell, would you guys recommend 30-32 PSI on new tire size?
