Hello @Retaliator @capsat
I have an Altis 07, 250k driven. It is losing the power, consuming more fuel lately, and becoming a bit noisy, like humming more on 3000 rpm and above, and feels like out of breath sometimes.
Today, I asked a trusted mechanic mechanic to come to my home, showed him a video from YouTube, and asked him to measure the valve clearance for me.
Following are the Results:
Intake:
Valves 1-2 Clearance is 0.16~17 mm. (.15 filler was easy to insert and .20 couldn't be inserted)
valves 3-4 clearance is 0.21~22 (0.20 filler was easy to insert and 0.25 couldn't be inserted)
valves 5-6 clearance is0.2 (tight insert)
valves 7-8 clearance is 0.2 (tight insert)
Exhaust:
valves 1-2 clearance is 0.3 (tight insert, 0.25 was loose insert)
valves 3-4 clearance is 0.3 (tight insert, 0.25 was loose insert)
valve 5 clearance is 0.3 (tight insert, 0.25 was loose insert) valve 6 clearance is 0.35 (tight insert)
valves 7-8 clearance is 0.4 (tight insert)
The repair manual shared here says intake clearance should be around 0.2 mm. valves 1-2 have clearance around 0.15, and and 3-4 was slightly above 0.2. on exhaust, valve 06 is 0.35 and valves 7,8 are 0.4 mm where it should be 0.3 mm.
Given the measurements and the suggested values, should I go for changing the valve buckets, and would it improve the performance and reduce noise?
valued feedback is required.
