Indu$ is not offering Immobilizer; this might be the first thing to do after warranty is over and Indu$ has shorter warranty period anyways :-#

Toyota does offer the regular 2 years warranty, iguess thats what Suzuki and Honda are providing.

Jazak-Allah. First Registration than Insurance etc, I have exhausted all the budget No big plans for the mods anyways. Matter of fact; nothing much is needed except changing tyres.

Yes; you are right. The Indu$ dealer's attitude towards customer has improved significantly. They gave me a round to the facilities etc. Back in 2009 they were pathetic.

Altis SR

Unless you are not after getting all the badges on the trunk; I think Altis A/T is better than Altis SR M/T; A/T plus Cruise Control > Sunroof (that you tint anyways) plus Rain Sensing Wipers!

BTW; Indu$ is not giving back view camera in non SR Altis :-#
Navigation etc is there; just back view camera is missing that I will get installed on the first inspection.

Update: Got its tyres changed; Goodyear Assurance 195/65/15 (2011 Late) for 8000/tyre; traded in the Euro Stars for 4500/tyre.

Well, the AC is so far is good. I think AC cooling varies from car to car, as I have 4 similar cars in my surrounding, mine gives the best cooling, while 1.8 gives normal. But I have find its cooling better than SE Saloon, may be it is new, thats why.

Few quick updates

• Took it earlier this week for a trip to score few KMs on its ODO before the first inspection; also got it registered from Lahore It gave about 9Km/L average for the trip (~400Kms, About 80:20 Highway:City, all time A/C) I am hoping it will improve..
• After the trip; took it for its first inspection; got its A/C checked the gas was 380g; should be 450g; they refilled it; now A/C is working fine. It now gives about 8C temperature reading and with some REV pushes goes down to 6C (under the shade; the usual temp. reading test)
• ECU cover is also installed

There were just ~200Kms on ODO before the trip. Its improving; yesterday on the trip to "zameen" it gave 11+Km/L; most of it was single road/under 60Km/h drive.

The fuel average depends largely on how/where you drive; Altis has smaller displacement than Civic; better fuel consumption at the cost of less fun obviously :-#

Altis will give you better fuel consumption even with its 300cc bigger displacement. Earlier we had SE Saloon; that too used to give better average than XLis/GLis. In my opinion; the more cost of Altis is completely justified; from bigger displacement to SRS; from rims to Sat Nav; even from the wooden panels to chrome on doors....still I guess 1.3L GLi M/T will have less depreciation :-#

Any ideas how can I import "KML" file (Google Earth / Google Maps) as Custom POIs into Altis' Navigation?

The Navigation software is Sygic; and there is option to Import "UPI" file there. How can I convert KML file to UPI. And where to keep that UPI file? Here is the folder structure of the "Maps Card"

As expected, neither Indu$ dealer and nor Trakker NAV people had any answers. Anyways here is the first piece of the puzzle.

You need a Sygic RUPI Convertor. This software parses the text file and convert it into RUPI file. The format of input text file is

Only first three columns are required; all remaining are optional

The second piece is PoiEdit, using this you can convert Google Earth KML file to ASCII (Plain Text) file.

Once you have the ASC file; open it in NOTEPAD (or your favourite text editor) and using Find and Replace prepare it for the RUPI Convertor.
