Might be because in thinner oils I have noticed radiator fan turns on more frequently, so maybe that puts load on the alternator?

Salam Bhai I'm using 5w-30 since day 1. So I'm thinking of switching to 5w-50. Does it require some sort of engine switching or just I have to drain 5w-30 and pour 5w-50?

Use what's recommended in the manual from the company you bought your car. Grande needs 5w50 recommended by IMC, On the other hand civic turbo needs 0w20 recommended by Honda Atlas.
Pouring oil contradictory to your owner's manual will result in a very noisy engine and bad fuel average.

What's your daily mileage? The avg drops to the level you are experiencing when you have shorter runs.

My friend don't fall for these gimmicks of extra ordinary fuel average obtained from grande/altis.1.6 at .....10 is the maximum you should expect in city where it's stop and go with ac turned on all the time ..... I've 1.6at and max it gives is 11 in a city with a soft pedal having rpm below 2k

bro in stop and go traffic my Altis 1.6 Auto gives 9.5 km/l
even on idiling the car drops down 0.2 km/l max and i mean idling for a good 25-30 minutes

Apart from that in winters my average overall increases to near 11 km/l
Overall the average has fully stabilized and i think this is the best one can get
