Alto vxr 05 gear noisy when cold...any solution?

This is due to low oil level in gearbox. If capacity is 3 liters you need to pour 3.25 or 3.5 liters oil. If oil level is low or normal, it cant reach to all parts of gearbox thats why it cause noise which vanish after 5 to 10 minutes of engine start.

yes it is,mechanic say that'' 5th gear local use nai hota thats y ye uska bearing awaz krta ha''
but do not go for oil more than 2.5ltrs else you have to face some seal replacement charges

last time when i drove my car,it sounded too much coz i was it was a small drive to a near market,i consulted my friend he said leave every thing and get oil changed,so i got 2ltrs only

i also replcaed the oil and put 2.25 litres of liqui moly oil along with anti gears friction of 50grams....
what i thought its best oil avail but found no change

hmmm,actually i was also thinking to go for liqui moly but ended on zicc as alto not is a hitech car that i may go for expensive oil,if possible show the can in which oil was or google it and paste it here,or just check at your own that what the viscosity was it may be written like 140w or 90w
by the way for how much you bought anti friction??

Dear i i have also been facing this problem with my Alto 2007 since i replaced the gearoil for the very first time.
Since then i have tried everything but all in vain.
Discussed this issue with may mechanics.
They said that this problem is very common in Suzuki Alto and cant be fixed.
However they told the following remedies. I haven't tried any so far

1. Pour excess gear oil than the recommended quality. (In some cases 3 + litres fixed this problem).

2. When engine is hot, Park you card tilting more than 30 degrees towards left (gear side) for half an hour.

3. Or get your 5th gear bearing changed.

dear got 3 ltres gear oil in 1 litre packing it costed me 2400 for that and anti friction 50g costed me 580 rupees...i have some half litre oil left in the bottle.. i will get the pic of it and paste it here soon....but this is forsure that i got the original oil.....

brother i have seen 2010 alto 33k driven having the same noise of gear...
so thats the common problem ...
2ndly never pour excess oil...it will harm ur car gear seals....i have got enough inormation on it....as the seals are of suzuki...and every1 knows the rubber pipies,hoses and seals quality of suzuki....other thing it will also harm the syncronizers....
the 2nd thing u said doesnt have any practical technical impication....cant be proved that it will prime ur gears always with oil....
yes about the last option u r right...but every one firstly thinks alot....gear box kholnay se aur koi masala paeda na ho jaye...as u know mechanics aik cheez theek kertay hain tou dosri kharab.....
at the end i have replaced all top line gear oils but found no change...even after replacing liquimoly oil...yes feeling a very little bit improvement day by day....but lets c further more...waisay be garmian aa rahe haain....this problem will automatically i think get lessened....yes liqui moly is very very good oil the differance what i felt in drive....smooth shifting of gears and good pick up after leaving the clutch

dont worry very much i have that problem in my ALTO VXR 2002, 90k driven
it will be ok with temp rise i mean this will be fine in march inshallah

yes he is right , its common on 5 gear transmissions,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and happens when you repair/replace your CV joints,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,mechanic drain all the oil but never fill the transmission up to its fill,,,,,,,,,,,,such noice problems are because of that,,,,,,,,,,,,,,or if your car is really high millage,,,,,,,,,,,

well that 5th gear roller bearing is very very easy to replace,,,,,,,,,,,,need not more than 30 min and cost less than 1000 Rs,,,,,,,,,,,,you check my thread and seach for post cultus transmission overhaulling,,,,,,,,,,,,,although its cultus transmission but you can get a clear idea how all that can be done,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

when filling gear oil - it is advised to pour slowly as the gear lube is viscous, secondly the vehicle should be level, not up on ramps, if it is then you need to tilt it sideways too.

Usually margallas and khybers have this problem. Keep the rpm at idle during warm-up. In my khyber if i rev during warm-up this sound start coming, otherwise not.

there is another trick,,,,,,,,,,,leave the oil bottel under sun for 30 min or so,,,,,,,,,,,,,,you will see it become hot and thin as engine oil,,,,,,,,,,,,,easy to handel,,,,,,,,,,,,,,i always follow that

yes there are channels to pass oil to fifth gear which is out from the main casing,,,,,,,,,,,in this case the thread owner has add grease in oil,,,,,,,,,,,,,,making it more viscous and oil cant pass from there when its dead cold,,,,,,,,,,,
