awesome place. The settlement in Post#30, how much time did you guys take to reach there? I might visit kalam this year along with my family (wife and 7 years old daughter) and we want to explore anakar valley. Previously we three have some pre-mature trekking experience i.e. arang kel, jalband (kalam) and miandam ..

it took us abt 3-4 hrs to reach there.... i wont recomend this place with family its better u visit some famous routes like kundol or spinkhor... anakar may ppl r not that musch used to trouists.. u can go there alone or with boys....... waisy bhe its a long trek for family

i have returned from a great explore in Kalam valley. trekked up to Anakar Lake in Anakar valley. it is a very seldom visited lake which is known by the name of Andrab Lake by the locals.... according to the guides Gulraiz Ghauri Sb has been there in 2001-2002 and a group of guyz from waziristan but no one else.... the trek starts from Anakar Village which is well known (towards Utror) the 10 km trek leads through lush forests to the lake at 10800 feet altitude (measured by Garmin GPS). the trek was tufer than expected as there is no meadow in between and the path is also not well defined coz of less visits by locals even.... the glaciers crossings were a bit of a bother also coz it was early in season....:(. anyways we left for kalam on Thursday and started trek on friday.. reached lake foot by evening as we spent a lot of time figuring out route and also a shower halted our march for some time.... the next day we explored the lake area and returned to kalam....

the team consited of me

usman bukhari (he was the initiator of this trek)... usman bukhari is an expert in trekking in swat valley and has done many treks here.... this was my forst trek with him and i had a good experience....

Assalamo alekum....asif bhai..mujhe ap ki heelp chahye...mae is bakar eid par north side pe kisi track par jana chahts hun.....shaed kumrat ya kalam mae koi.......
Can u plz tell me that how can I arrange equipment for campng like rat ko sone k liye kia le jaoun sath and kumrat valley mae agar mae jahax banda jana chahu toa guide and porter ki cost kitny ho gy......and kia kumrat mae koi hotal hae yar agar mae kumrat mae ya jahaz banda mae apna sleeping bag sath le jaoun toa 4 person wala toa kia waha koi issue toa nahy ho ga...
Plz agar detail mae bataen gen toa mashkur hun ga....
Ku k mere lye ap ki advise bohut ahmiyat rakh y hae....

well there r no hotels in kumrat valley but ab wahan aik choti se camp basti ha bilkul start may... us ke availability ka kuh nai kehsata coz wahan bht rush ho gi hai aj kal..... u must have ur camp and sleeping bag with u .......... aur jahan banda may chimrin cottage tu ha raja taj ka but wahn bhe jag nai milti khas tur par eid etc par......... jahan tak guide porter ke baat hai ao 800-1000 tak akrwa deta hai aram say jandrai say taj sb...... koi masla nai hai wo bht co operating banda ha...... but there also u must acrry ur camp and sleeping bags .... khana wahan mil jata hai.... bakra sakra chal he raha hota hai.......

the whole of swat is yet to explored, i am amazed to see this threat, coz being a swati munda aged 35 is yet to explore it. and you did it man.. great

yes indeed i have just touched the border of swat valley.. its a whole universe there worth exploring... hopefully with time i will do more treks here
