best will be of fresh lean boneless beef. slice it to desired size & thickness of choice. use lemon juice salt & pepper (seasoning of your choice) light pounding with meat hammer and leave it in covered bowl for 30 45 minutes, Grill it over light flame or BBQ Grill to doneness of your choice. Grilled beef petty is ready

That recipe would make beef steak. For burger patty, its better to use minced meat (beef is preferable) and after spices, grill it. It can be gas cooked or bbq'd for additional taste.
