Annoying brakes :confused:

I stopped going to that mechanic after he did a bad clutch job on the car, messed up my radiator and wired the fan wrong. Did I mention he broke my car key too.

The weird part is , this is the only brake related problem i have. Brakes otherwise are perfect, no whining, scrapping or any other noises. No pulsation on pedal. Even the pads area as good as new, i got them replaced around 3 months ago.

even the wear on pads is never uneven. System doesnt have air nor does it reduce oil. Bearings are fine, replaced the discs. Running genuine Honda pads.

Buddy check your b/pads cliper pins. And other problem could be the B/pad even. Because if you are using B/pad replacment can cause that problem. Because as much the disc is used on braking it create magnatic whatever u say it. Which hold the brake pads towards the disc and After heating up that can cause you problem.the best material B/pad in market german technology B/pad ( PROACTIVE) made in orgnial Taiwan. With best braking and material used and plus he is the OEM supplier for BMW bpad series.

Caliper pins are fine. Most of the noise has disappeared after partial fluid change. Will still go for complete flush. I will try the pads u have suggested but i am gonna let these genuine ones wear off first. Paid alot of money for them, the whole magnetic thing sounds logical

Bumping an old thread, now i am really pissed n also dnt know y i m laughing while posting, car is honda e.g 8, i replaced my whole wheel hub. Calipers, n pads, also new lines n almost after 6-8 months this sound is back again, now gona check bearing, camber bushes. N if i need gona replace rotor too,

Yep grease on calipers, but didnt found antisieze :/, i m hearing a tuk tuk sound only when i relase clutch ( while launch) as soon as the car start moving, n tuk sound again when it stops, feels like some playy in joint or any bush expired, due to that effect, could b bearing gona expire in upcoming days n finally due to slightly play from bearing, rotors r creating this sound again :s

a FWD car should not have any play in the front bearings or you will ruin the hub, check the tightness of the axle nut if you find the hub is loose.

btw the grease to be used on calipers is not the regular cheap multipurpose grease you buy at parts ki dukaan, Honda recommend silicone grease - it is available in Pakistan, used to cost Rs 600/tin (500 gr) in 2005 - but it will last you a lifetime. The brand was sloan silicoslip and was packaged in EPZ Karachi.

Hi Can you please help with one problem. my corolla 2012 model only 27000 km driven is giving tuk tuk sound from front right wheel. This sound is not constant and comes some times on applying soft brake paddle. i have greased the caliper pins and the dics are ok too. Rotor is ok too. still the sound comes. what can this sound be as it is very irritating. it sounds like that if some thing is about to crack hard. this sound came from same side long time back i got it greased and it disappeared but now its there again.

can this sound be of the caliper piston which pushes the brake disc pads. my brakes are working perfect. ABS works perfect too then what this sound can be off ?? please help.

if you are going to machine down the brake disc make sure the machinist has proper tools for it, it should be tooled from both sides in one go - it ensures the disc remains true, also make double sure you are not going too thin on the discs otherwise they will warp under brake load - check the thickness - it should be stamped on the disc itself.

If you are just removing glaze, use coarse emery cloth to remove the shine and install new pads, I had a more easy way, I made a set of disc pads with soft grinding stones on them, I drove the car around very carefully for about half a km and applied brakes softly and constantly, it removed glaze from the discs..

It is a very high risk procedure because you only have about 20% brake power compared to normal working brakes.

since you car is relatively newer you should get it checked from a 3s dealer
another things is that mechanics dont use proper grease , they use normal grease for lubricating the pins which could melt because of the heat generated by brakes so try using brake grease it comes in small packets

thanks. will get the car checked on this weekend. secondly i don't trust these toyota dealers much. I have had one bad experience with them. they screwed up my steering yoke shaft of my car by putting blame on me that i have been using china lock on the cross. where as i had not then after few months i made a complain to toyota indus motors and the dealer replaced the shaft worth 19k for only 7k. i had gone to toyota rawal motors in pindi. Their mechanics are not much experienced and trained. Good mechanics don't work on less salary as they pay nothing to them. any ways will get their view too.
