Why do you want to go with 29 or 30" tyres? You will probably find them too small for any decent 4x4 action. I would say stay away from 29", and get at least 30", even though it's distinctly smaller than the next size up. 31" is the best tyre height as far as affordability, availability and fitment are concerned. Tall enough for good ground clearance without requiring a suspension or body lift and easily available as well. 32" tyres can fit sometimes without a lift but it depends on wheel backspacing.
As far as brands, check out GT (Gaja Tungal) from Malaysia. It's apparently a subsidiary of Bridgestone. Good quality and good value for money. There's also Dunlop (decent road tyre) and Yokohama (Geolandar -tough off road tyre with good street manners and long life).
