Let me give life to this thread again, shufffff!!!
So, similar situation, 3 days ago, I gave the car to a detailer for wax and sealent and he told me there was rain water in your boot area and have some rust as well.
Around 6 months ago there was no rust at those areas but now I am worried.
Last night there was a heavy rain till morning and being just curious I checked the boot area after the rain stopped.
The water was present.
I removed the rubber seals and to my surprise the rust already done the damage.
I checked throughly to track where could be the rain water coming from. One could be the rust under the rubber seals (weatherstrips) or the backside of brake lights. There was no other places which were wet or had any sign of leaking/dropping water.
I am not sure how to be 100% sure and resolve this issue and this rust on the edge is fixable or not?
Attaching the pictures.
The boot liner had this salt residue. Only once in my ownership I detailed the car from Karachi SAC Car Detailing. Not sure before that previous owners did the same. One thing the Karachi detailer told me that the car was mostlt washed with the tap/salty water.
Anyways, please tell me where to fix in twin cities.
