Hello everyone
Not a single one here who has personally experienced this shishtam.
Well, I am the one.
I did not get this shishtam installed myself but got it pre-installed with the car I bought.
In fact, I am the new owner of the Toyota Crown (Green Color) having this CNG Hybrid shishtam.
You all must have seen the photos of the car in another thread by Mr. Atta.
Previous owner of the car works at Telenor Office located in F-7. According to him, the car goes 350 km with two CNG cylinders each with 50 liters capacity along with 10 liters of petrol. He got the Shishtam installed by Mr. Atta in Rs. 15000/-.
When me and my brother went for a trial run, the car felt highly under powered and I had to push the throttle hard to make the car move from dead stop. There was no feeling of driving a crown.
On the other hand, filling up two cylinders at Rs. 80/- a kilo plus cost of 10 liters of petrol and both fuels together yielding 350 kms doesn't seem to be a saving in fuel costs.
Upon information from previous owner, I reached Mr. Atta's workshop located in Chah Sultan and asked him to remove the shishtam as I am not satisfied with the way the car behaves. Moreover, I do not have the patience to join the long queues for CNG filling. Mr. Atta had to go to Lahore and asked me to return in two days.
Well, after two days, he did remove the shishtam installed by him. I also requested him to restore the engine's default petrol settings, which he did.
This is the third time, I have bought a Crown. Before buying this particular Crown, I knew its a gas guzzler. I never bought it because of Mr. Atta's Shishtam.
It must be noted here that I do not have "father's or wife's money" (as Mr. Atta thinks of petrol users) to burn up in a fuel guzzler car such as Toyota Crown. I earn my money hard from agricultural land which is of course real hard earned and pure halal money. I just love to own and drive a Crown because of its comfort and resulting driving pleasure.
[B]EVERYONE, PARTICULARLY VCHENG, XULFIQAR, and HAMEED SHOUD KNOW THAT I DO NOT HAVE ANY TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE.
What I observed from Mr. Atta's de-installation of the Shishtam, He attaches the switch box to car's ECU by cutting some wires and using his laptop, reduces the fuel supply.
After the de-installation, the car felt powerful (like a real Crown) and was easy to drive on light pedal.
For information of all, Mr. Atta has no team (at least, I did not see anyone working with him except his father, Mr. Abdul Islam). He works in a small and walled compound at Chah Sultan surrounded by mechanics and denters. It is really difficult to enter and exit with a large car like Crown in that compound.
As for the claims of Mr. Atta:
16 kg CNG @ Rs. 80/kg = 1280 plus 10 liters of petrol @ Rs. 108.3 / ltr = 1083
total cost for 350 kms = Rs. 2363
For the same 350 kms running on petrol, at an average of 11 km per liter the car consumes 31.8 liters and the cost is Rs. 3445 / -
Only Rs. 1082 are saved for a run of 350 kms with Mr. Atta's shistam and the car is ruined in result.
On petrol, the car now yields 11 km per liter on Motorway with an average speed of 120 kms along with full time ac while in city it yields 5 km in one liter of petrol. But this is what a Crow does. Its engine is built like this Its foolish to expect more such a car.
I fully agree with Senior members of this forum and endorse the view that Mr. Atta is scamming the people.
Please note: I do note have any technical knowledge but this is my experience with and without Mr. Atta's Shishtam.
