Another solo trip - a tribute to KKH

Boat was cruising peacefully as air was still. In windy conditions, they do not carry cars.

Within 35-40 minutes, boat started turning left thought last time it had started cruising right towards Gulmit.

Pilot said that nearly half of the lake is dry now and that landing station is Shiskat.

Fun ended soon when Shishkat was in my sight and the remains of the lake at this end were not very attractive.....

Boat was on the banks of the lake at Shishkat and "sailors" secured the boat with ropes for me to reverse the car.

Land journey started again on this track towards the main track where these vans were parked. When I was about to hit the main track, I saw a van parked just on my way. So I have to stop and then wheels started spinning without moving the car....it was about 18 - 20 feet incline with stones around.

Van driver knew his mistake and helped me by placing the stones behind the rear wheels and two guys then pushed the car and it was out.

Then track descended again and when I checked my GPS, I found I was driving in the remains of the lake. Dont go with the KKH yellow line on the right......one has to pass through ascending/descending tracks and I had missed the tracks a couple of times.

Then some side tracks for you to get an idea of where to drive

And then again a descend in the lake. Oh! in 2012, pillars of the under construct bridge were in water and now I have to drive between the pillars.

On the surface of the dry lake with heavy construction activity

And last climb out of lake after which newly build KKH was waiting for me.
