Bro every road is dangerous...accident can happen everywhere,,,yes gilgit skardu road ain't in a good shape but cars like mehran can also travel...you have to be attentive all the time..its not like you are driving on Agha shahi avenue...you have to be cautious and attentive because GOD forbid...if someone go down in that ravine...no one can rescue them,,,the terrain is like unreachable there down....deep down there are rocks on two sides and mighty indus roaring in between...
i am not scaring you...
Recite dua e safar and start your journey in sha Allah you will make it and it would be a memorable tour for you people....

Hey Ali,

For the itinerary that I have below. Do you think 75K for 5 persons would be enough for hotels and food? 2 nights Naran, 3 nights Hunza and 3 nights Skardu.

DAY 1. Islamabad to Naran, night stay in Naran

Day 2. Leave for Hunza early morning visit rakaposhi view point on the way and then night stay in Hunza.

Day 3. Visit Baltit fort, Naltar Valley and Eagles Nest and Night stay in same hotel.

Day 4. Leave for Khunjrab early morning, visit attabad lake on the way, come back to Hunza Stay for the night. (I am thinking not to go Gilgit and stay in Hunza since it would already be a long journey to Khunjerab and back)

Day 5. leave for Skardu early morning. Will make it there by evening. Night stay in Skardu.

Day 6. Visit Shangrilla and Kachura lake as well as the cold desert then night stay in Skardu

Day 7. Leave For Deosai early in morning. sadpara lake will come in between. also visit Sheosar Lake in Deosai and back to Skardu and night stay in Skardu.

Day 8. Leave for Shogran/ Naran stay a night.

Day 9. Leave for Islamabad.

Why would you visit Naltar and then come back to Hunza again?? Switch your day 4 with day 3..

Day 3 : Visit Khunjerab, stay in Hunza
Day 4 : Sunrise at eagle nest, then visit Baltit fort in morning, travel to Naltar valley and stay in Gilgit..

This will also save your travel time to Skardu on day 5 as you will be staying in Gilgit..

Hey thanks for that. Good idea. Also can you tell me in budget of 75 k is enough for hotels and food for the same itinerary. 2 days naran, 2 days Hunza, 1 day gilgit, and 3 days Skardu.

75k for food and hotel is more than enough !!

U will be getting room for around Rs. 6,000 per night, which makes it 50,000 for hotel and 25,000 for food is good enough amount.. However keep 10,000-15,000 extra to meet unusual circumstances.

That depends upon ur luck, maybe u can find rooms for 4,000 as well.. Try to stay in Batkundi instead of Naran (if u want to save a little bit money), it is 15 kms from Naran..

Yes its a small town, I haven't been there but many people recommend to stay there as you can get room for around 3,500-4,000 per night there and it is less crowded than Naran.. And it is in way towards Babusar/Hunza, so instead of staying in Naran, it is recommended to stay in Batkundi..

once last thing. What time should we leave from Pindi to reach Batakundi before sunset? if we talk lets say 1 hr break on the way for lunch somewhere.

If you have some short stays in between (say 2 or 3 short stays), then you can reach Batkundi in around 9 hours.. Though you can face traffic jam near Abbotabad, so it is recommended to leave around 6 am..

i have actually decided to tell my driver to take the murre - muzaffarabad route to Naran, I hope there won't be traffic there
