Mohtaram chdemon Sahib,
I would beg to differ sir. It's not a question of improving things but putting ourselves in the right direction. We have to prioritise our priorities. We need gas first in our homes to run our kitchens, then in our electricity generating plants, after that comes our industry, we need gas to make fertilizer and then last and the least is transport. We have an alternative source to run our wheels and that is petroleum. We don't need CNG in our cars.
As far as improving things, I doubt anything will improve in our country at least in our lifetime, we've messed up things to such an extent. This also doesn't warrant us to deprive our people of gas in their kitchens.
Our other main problem is population explosion which is outrunning our country's resources. Demand is increasing day by day because of which things are getting worse for every commodity and that's true for gas too. I think if we banned CNG from transport altogether, that will be a step in the right direction.
Several years back, learned technocrats at OGDC warned everybody about the dangers of switching vehicles to CNG in the form of the gas crisis of today. The main reason it was done was because a corrupt Mafia wanted to make money and only it could import CNG kits. Tons of kits were imported into Pakistan by that Mafia and several folds of profit was made with a percentage of commission fixed for government officials. The main intention of switching to CNG was corrupt: make corrupt money.
Regards.
