Dear Xulfiqar, im observing ur activity on PW for a good number of years and i really appreciate ur taste for auto-world.
im a university faculty member by profession in my mid thirties. but in my private life, im an auto fanatic with tools in my greasy hands working on our family cars when ever i get free moments.
these days im working on Honda Accord 1988 DX full restoration project in standard position, though its a tough one, luckily my car has got more than 95% stock n JDM part & accessories.
other than this we have fifth generation Civic (PKD) in service for ten years with a couple of times its assembly changed. This last one has engraved engine code D15B 3212024, while its original registration book mentions D15B32220089. it runs on CNG for its not an issue here in Peshawar to get ur car gas tank refilled. will seem strange, but it does give 180 KM plus (55 size tank) ride on highway with light foot on paddles seated by a couple of passengers in front. yea this is my regular experience as i commute between peshawar and Malakand.
but there is one not so good feeling.... the pick usually goes slow and one thinks as if the engine does not deliver required HP for nearly 1300 kg stuff (car+ two passengers+ CNG tank weight). im looking forward to ur expert opinion but with one fundamental question......
Should i go for a bolt to bolt engine swap of compatible honda engine (SOHC/DOHC carburated, PGMFI or VETEC etc) pouring more power on one side and with little mess up on other???? what options or ways of solution do i have?
Stay blessed
