Yes but I never liked even 1% in minus. The increased wheel arch gap looks hideous. Better to go towards plus size for variation. Less gap give better aesthetics. In my opinion

Really appreciate the detailed reply buddy but in all honesty, if I was so well versed in the rims / tires domain, I wouldn't be asking such silly questions in first place

I do understand tire dimensions but I have no idea what these % calculations and offsets mean

I barely drive 30kms every day (work) and that too on clean and carpeted roads (mostly). So i'm not too concerned about the rims breaking etc. Not a big fan of Honda rims either.

What i'm concerned about right now is for a R17 size, should I get 215 / 55, 215 / 50 or 225 / 55?

If I opt for 215 / 55 or 225 / 50-55, will those hit the car / car shields while turning or driving?

Alternatively, If I go with 215 / 50 .. will that affect the ride quality?

Go for 215/50 or 225/50 incase of R17. Any other sizes would get either too big or too low

Found the Honda ones, they do look better than the rims I was running after previously. Got Yokohama Advan DB 215 / 55 with them. I'm still clueless about the offset bit but I was told that the width is 7" and they don't look too big. Thanks for all your help

I'm back with a different set of questions:

1) I've driven plenty of CVT cars previously (my previous car being a 3rd gen prius), but I've never felt this weird jerk when the car is shifting down. Calling it a jerk might not be justified, lets just say it isn't really a smooth transition.

2) When I shift from P to R or even D, there is a slight lag before the car goes into that specific gear.

None of these would happen in my prius. I understand this is Honda's first attempt at a CVT but is this normally the case with everyone's 10th gen or is mine the odd one out? I asked the Honda technicians but they looked at me as if I was an alien

Honda CVTs are not as smooth as Toyota CVTs. Specially the one in Prius is an eCVT (electronically controlled variable transmission)

Nothing to worry about the one in Civic is kind of jerky after Toyota.

And NO, this is the first CVT Civic in Pakistan but it isn’t the first CVT for Honda. They have been doing this for quite some time. Even the City 2003 in Pakistan was a CVT, Vario

Adding to it this slight jerky feel is present in Grande also which i guess is normal, specially in slow speed like somewhere plus minus 40km/hr if one pulls out the accelerator paddle and then pushes it again.

and P----R-----N------D slight jerk is same in civic and corolla.......I would advise to drive a Grande if possible for further mental satisfaction. Its all normal

Thanks guys! My bad.. I meant this is Honda's first attempt at a CVT (in a civic).
The prius transmission was phenomenal. I guess it'll take me some time to get accustomed to this change.
Rest assured, at least I know there's nothing wrong with my car

Yes CVT jerk at 40+/- speeds is there in Grande. Only if you life off the foot from pedal and repress it slightly.

Yes that sudden lift off around those speeds gives kind of a jerk feel which I think is more of a momentum being broken jerk.

If it wasn’t for illiterate people mostly in Corollas coming with full beam towards you and no matter how much you flick and dip them to ask dipping their lights and they still don’t respond, I wouldn’t have replaced my bulbs.

Since got addicted slightly to the brightness, upgraded the Hi beams further with original Cree XHP50. Now its 6000 Lumens.

How much was it? And where did you get these from?

Got these for 7000. I doubt anyone else has these original Cree chip bulbs
