@Xulfiqar or any other pakwheeler - i have been facing an issue in mehran 2017 which i have asked helped for but couldn't find exact reason of issue. Issue is that its fuel guage first doesn't used to show correct reading - I got it checked the wire under back seat - got the guage checked in fuel tank - had the dashboard opened as well. Now it shows correct reading to some extent but needle moves freely always at downhills/uphills sometimes in static position as well. I don't know which thing i should get replaced. Don't want to have tank/dashboard open multiple times since mechanic/electrician would most probably open a new list of issues due to carelessness

Update on this.

Bulbs are genuine 55/60 Watt, verified it. Also asked electrician to test ground side loaded, not much of a voltage drop (0.1-0.15).

He has done that aesthetically shit relay stuff i.e. switching relay on via assembly signal and drawing power directly from battery for the headlights. "Ab kabhi nhn jalega".

What else can I look for if it isn't a bad ground? Any other symptoms or issues that I should address?

What way was the voltage drop tested?

If the fuel gauge swings out wildly

Remove the fuel gauge float bridge from the tank and test it manually or use a set of resistors to simulate the float and see if the gauge moves on its own.

He did with a test light with digital voltmeter. Test light clip on battery ground, probe on the headlight wire just where he's taking the new ground from i.e. a bolt around fender. Nothing on test light, nothing on the digital voltmeter, says "0.2v se neeche nhn ata kuch matlab sahi hai".

Can such low readings be detected by a test light, or should I try it with a multimeter myself. I am asking this because I feel like even if headlights have a new, better ground now, there might be other components along previous ground wire that might be at risk just because electrician is being lazy.

Search on google how to do a correct loaded voltage drop test, your electrician conjured an act for you.

The circuit is tested end to end to find potential difference when circuit loads up.

So yeah, did some research. I gotta load the circuit through headlights and whatever else is grounded through that path, and if I find any voltage/potential difference between two ends of the ground, I would just have to backtrack my way to the component/connection that's causing it?

Yes,

This is exactly what needs to be done. It takes time but this is why electrical diagnostic is charged quite high.

This time, I have a chinese clone of the CD-70, with an elusive gearbox. Half shifts from 3rd to 4th often make the gears "slip", as seen here. Further shifts to correct the slipping gears result in a loud THUNK.

Can you explain why that would be the case? Is a complete revamp of the gearbox needed, or is there some easy fix?

P.S: Thanks for your amazing knowledge. Due to you, I managed to fix up my chinesium engine for the most part, and other parts of the bike, as well as start wearing safety gear. You do make a difference!

Youre welcome

In your case, you will need to teardown the gearbox and find out if the shift drum or its actuation fork is bad, (drum is internal while the actuation fork is in clutch housing)

Sir i have a civic x 1.5t. Gave the car to a honda dealer to repaint both bumpers. Driving home i noticed everytime i floor the car, the rpm locks at around 3-4k and it feels like the car will stall any minute. Drivable on low revs but if i floor it, completely dies. I will drive it back to the dealer tomorrow, anything particular to look out for so they dont rob me into shotgunning parts at it? No check engine light so far and the car has nearly 100k on the odometer. My gut says it could be a failing fuel pump but i dont really know.

Shopping around for my bike, I found out that certain parts claim to be "Made in Japan", like the magnet and stator seals for the CD-70, which are offered by companies like "NOK" and "SUN". Is this just marketing bullshit, or does Japan really make such seals and manage to send them to Pakistan for under 50 cents???

The aforementioned parts seem to not be available from Atlas honda for some reason...

Oil seals are made in japan and are usually regular sized and can be measured and referenced from an engineering handbook. Just like bearings.

In 100% of Pakistani import cases today the oil seals are imported in bulk packs and repackaged locally, some products even have a lot of locally made names.

And on protective gear, I can't seem to find any motorbike boots or properly certified helmets (Think ECE). The locally available stuff puts a big question mark onto safety. Any guidance on where I could go to find "properly certified" motorbike gear?

Unfortunately a vague description wont help, it maybe a few different items including a failing charging system.

Best have it diagnosed.

how to do it ? and i noticed temp guage is also not working - car got heatup recently and guage was near C and water was full. Should I go for a meter change for working guages? got them repaired but doesn't seems to fix the issue.
