A mechanic told me that it is cloged clean it he said he will do it with acid i refused bc no engine check light is on
Kindly tell me procedure for its cleaning

And also tell me this is condition of my plug shuould i chUploading... ange it

Hi,

I have Honda city 2008 automatic. Its around 150,000 driven. Few months back I noticed the engine is reducing oil. I went to Honda and they said to use a thicker oil. I am now using shell 2050. On local the car does not reduce oil ( may be because drive is less around 20Km daily in Islamabad) but on long it still reduces oil. What can be the issue?

I dont know about engine and stuff. Can anyone guide a good honest mechanic where I can get it checked?

Answer the following, then I shall further guide you:

1) With engine on normal operating temperate, revv the engine at idle and see if you are getting blue-grey smoke?

2) what is the amount (approximate) of engine oil being reduced after say 1000 KM, or any figure you can give.?

replace the oil with any other 20w50 ..havoline or german oils .....and see the difference

this more looks like fake oil which reduce when used under constant high temperature ...

all fake oils reduce in long runs and they last if driven in short intervals

do not use acid for cat cleaning

we have done the experiment on many cars and it fails

what it does it cleans it up but also destroys the function of a CAT

when this happens the temperature in CAT increase which reduces the sensor life very quickly

use fluid mix additives like from profi-car .... or use mannol and liqy molly intake manifold additives

Mannol has proper way to use so your mechanic should know how to use it

as far as your plugs goes .....

you can see the bottom area on white surface it has yellow line ...this shows plug has completed its life and its leaking from here...and this results in low compression in your piston cylinder

replace it with copper 1s or with original ....original is for 1300 rupees 1... and copy will cost between 600 to 900 rupees for 1

Hi,

1. I did not see any blue-grey smoke on normal temperature. I checked it for 30- 60 secs.
2. The drive it not much on local I drive around 20K daily in Islamabad and around 400KM on long once a month. Having said that the reduction after a long drive is about 0.5 litre. So you can sau 0.5 litre on 400Km on long.

Should I go with 20w50 or some other configuration as some on suggested its very thick oil for IDsi engine?

i have another problem with my baleno 1.3 JXR 205 a.c this time, u start the car a/c starts for like 10 to 15 minutes and once it trips and it doesnt turns on no matter what u try. switch off the car, or wait. but it wont start the a/c on or engage the compressor.
i have changed the A/C bello inside dashboard near evaporator.
car is not heating up, when a/c runs cooling is perfect as u may expect from 13 year old shuzuki.
can anyone help me with this mysterious switching off/on of A/C.

I am using Shell 20w50.

Did not notice oil stains in the parking. And couldnt find the leakage.

Tuning was done around 4 months back.

I was using Honda 10w30 when it all started around a year back. The engine was reducing oil even in local drive. The Honda people suggested me to go for more thicker oil. I shifted to 10w40 but same problem and then to shell 20w50 after which the oil reduction at local drive stopped but its still there on long drive.

As per my understanding, it has done 150,000 on the odo; do the following:

1) Replace PCV valve.
2) Carry out engine flush with Liquimoly engine flush (you can find this on Pakwheels store) as per directions on the Liquimoly can.
3) Replace engine oil with 5W50 oil, yes 5W50 full synthetic with API SN certification. Any good brand is OK.

Note: Donot use 20W50, it’s too viscous for your car engine.

Also note that once your oil consumption is fixed after replacing PCV and use of 5W50 oil, try reverting back to 5W40 and see the results. If it’s OK, then fine. If you find minor oil consumption then also fine, if it’s moderate, then again revert back to 5W50. I hope PCV replacement will solve your issue. Install genuine OEM PCV valve as it has been calibrated according to your engine.
