So, when i purchased my ride 2 months ago i came to know the owner used 20w/50/ in it. And ride had a recent Rings job done. And currently not reducing any oil. So I immediately reverted back to Zic A+ which is i believe a 5w/20 oil. And changed second oil with zic A 10w/40. And have planned to stick to this API grade.
I changed the oils both times at home. So never had a talk about it with any mechanic. But last night a friend came to see me with his mechanic friend so i kind of started exploring his mind as in "what he got" lol.
He told me i should not have used 5w/20 oil right after 20w/50 infact i should have decreased it gradually to 10w/40 and then 5w/20.
But the thing is from what i have learned here (mostly from @xulfiqar bhai ofcourse) keeping in veiw the cleaning and ditergent properties of a synthetic oil i poured 5w/20 synthetic oil to clean any sludge and other skunky stuff created by using 20w/50 oil. And once i am done using that oil i came back to the factory suggested 10w/40 specification.
My question is did i do anything wrong? Should i really have done as that mr.mechanic said??
