I bought a Suzuki Alto 08 in November 2016 (meter reading is 87000+) and I was pretty happy about it. But recently It started giving me pain by decreasing almost 0.5L Mobil oil on every 450-500KM drive (local or long route) which I think isn't good. I am using Shell Helix 20W50. Also, its decreasing water in the radiator but there is no leakage which I checked with mechanic and he said the water burns because of weak head. It also throw white smoke in the morning but after then no smoke at all whole day. My mechanic said, head and rings are weak and these should be fixed or you can run it by just maintaining the mobil oil level as long as want until engine give up. What do you say?
I ain't a expert of cars so please explain what should I do in such matter and if I choose to go with mechanic's way, what should I keep in mind to get the job done to keep my vehicle in a good condition and for a long time. Since I want this to be perfect, the budget isn't a problem but if I know a ball park estimate from you guys that would be helpful to choose between local, genuine or kabuli parts etc.
