What should I use as power steering fluid? Every shop I go to hands me ATF, I know ATF can be used as PS fluid but what specific ATF should I use since there are many different versions of ATF available. If anyone knows of proper fluid available then kindly let me know the name of that fluid. Planning to change it tomorrow if someone provides me the name.

i have recently changed the whole engine block of Mira 2008 model. Is it ok to flush engine and change the oil after about 500 km. What is the best way to go about it......need your precious advice . Thanks in advance

I recently purchased a 660cc JDM originally 2009 make. But I have noticed that there is a whiff of black smoke if a press the paddle too hard in N. If a keep engine at very high RPM after few seconds engine gets jerry like 2 sec 5000 drop down to 3500 then reaches 5000 with small amount of black smoke like coughing continuously.

PSF is dependant on the car, e.g. Hondas will scream at you for using ATF, toyota, nissan, mitsubishi, suzuki, mazda will work on any ATF.

I prefer a full synthetic ATF as PSF. It handles heat load and pump working far better than regular ATF.

What would be a bigger option to go with, a 400-500 rs transmission fluid from brands like warco, caltex etc or a 1000 rs fully synthetic atf oil? Just yesterday I came across a few fluids that were specially for PS. Affordability isn't a concern.

The thing that prompted me to go for a fluid change (I thought these last a lifetime, and guess where I heard this from, the legendary USTAADS) was that the rpm jumps 300 revs every time I turn the wheel.

Does fluid in any way affect the smoothness of the steering wheel?

best option for your power steering is synthetic ATF as it handles heat better and doesnt cavitate quickly. and YES - fluid quality does affect how a steering works - meaning if you put in a very thick oil in there the steering effort wont be smooth. It may even jerk.

The other bit to make sure is that you actually completely flush the system, its done by disconnecting the return line at the reservoir bottle and moving the steering left to right with wheels off the ground. Keep on replenishing the oil in the reservoir and you will change it out completely.

This task takes about 1 litre

Sir what is your opinion about a Lci e38 740il as a project vehicle is it a tough/complex vehicle to work on, the reliability of the m62 4.4?

P.S my m112 is giving odourless smoke/steam condensation on start sometimes randomly, its rare with just a little puff but no smell.Strange thing is that it has no pattern i.e sometimes on cold start which is obvious but sometimes a trip to local store and a puff on second start

I have a strange problem with my Honda Fit Hybrid (2012 GD2). I went to SWAT and while climbing to heights, My car dropped RPM and acceleration after some time of drive when I have to stopped in the middle of the slop.

I waited for some time and car started to work again. Please suggest is this issue with car getting heat up or some fuel injection issue.

can anybody tell me what is the use of the thin metal plate on the back of brake pads? Some pads come with it some come without it so confused. The plate which is on the floor in the attached pic

I believe it suppresses the noise from brakepads during application - it should be lubricated with a thin layer of grease.

Xulfiqar bhai Hello hope you're doing fine, just wanted to ask, my car is running very rich,its a 5afe fixed the o2 sensor, was good on the first day but now its the same,Corrected the timing as i am no longer using CNG,removed the cng blockage,the only thing wrong with it is the wrong serial no. map sensor as i could not find it in this shitty shuba i was defending all the time, sorry for that though! Can i have some help pls?

@Xulfiqar bhai I changed the coolant and performed all the steps to bleed the air of of the system.Now the radiator's upper hose gets squeezed when the engine is cold.What to do now?
