@ tintin. Thinner oils can start apearing to leak from places you don’t know. As per my knowledge 5w30 , 10w30 and 10 w40 all are recommended. But how much does a thicker oil effect fuel consumption? How much difference will b among these three ? My car does 8 to 9 kms in city on 10 w30.

Thinner oils have ability to reach each corner and tight clearances inside engine. Thicker oils have more resistance. That's why thicker ones are generally used in engines with age

Guys expert opinion is required. I have a Pak Suzuki WagonR 27k driven, within warranty. recently i noticed squeaking noise coming from front suspension, occasionally, when the car goves over a large speed breaker. I took it to Suzuki Islamabad, they test drove it, acknowledged the noise, tightened some nuts and bolts. On post service test drive the noise was still there. They inspected it again and their advisor recommended to get the suspension bushes/ball joints oiled as they have dried which is causing the noise and nothing else was wrong.
As far as i know, which i also told suzuki guys without them acknowledging it, the undercarriage and plastic/rubber parts should not be oiled/greased after wash/service as it will catch more dust and will eat into the parts.

Your opinion is required regarding:
1. recommendation of suzuki personnel,
2. possible cause of noise.
3. what remedial/corrective measures to be taken.

NEVER spray oil undercarriage after service. This is forbidden. This eats up rubber parts and suspension+axles are all about rubber boots and bushings. Regarding your issue, I suspect a bad ball joint which creates sounds on uneven roads. Also make sure your strut nuts are fully tight. And re-inspect your tie rods as they create sound too

Thanks for feedback. I was aware of the ills of spraying oil underneath the car that's why i was flabbergasted at their suggestion. They did check, and tighten, some nuts and bolts and the ball joints/tie rod etc. but i am not convinced with their inspection/work as the solution they advised made me believe either they are incompetent or unprofessional. I am planning to visit another dealership next week. lets see what they come up with.

Yeah, you are right. but in this particular instance i am preferring Suzuki dealerships as the vehicle is under warranty and the issue must be resolved under warranty.

Hi @Xulfiqar i recently purchased a toyota corolla xli 2010 model and was looking its cooling system is running on tap water. I was going to flush and add coolant in it but the mechanic told me if you add coolant in a car which is running on tap water for years it will create problem for you.is it true?
