@Xulfiqar, I'll be replacing a 6DCT450 on a Mondeo mk4 TDCi in a few days and just getting the bases covered.
I'm having trouble understanding how exactly to mate transmission with engine.
Manual says:
"Unique to this transmission is the use of a dog-clutch which acts as an interface between
the transmission and engine.
The dog-clutch on the flywheel side consists of 8 dogs (claws) which is indexed to the 8 dogs (claws) in the clutch housing and is pre-loaded with a spring.
The interface is designed to absorb small shocks between the engine and transmission that can be transmitted through the vehicle.
Before the transmission is coupled to the engine, the first flywheel's first dog (claw), which is narrower is to be fitted against the spring in the clutch housing using special tool 308-757 from SPX Tools.
The function of the first dog (claw) on the flywheel is to pre-load the spring on the clutch housing, the other 7 dogs transfer the engine's torque to the transmission"
Have you used the tool 308-757 before? Is it meant just for aligning the transmission or does it load the spring too ??
I've read the manual in detail and nowhere it says how exactly to "load the spring" either using 303-757 or 308-1059. It just identifies how to align the gearbox.

The tool preloads the spring with one dog so the other 7 dogs can mesh (they are the torque drivers)

Do you also have the clutch housing tool?

So to be clear the term "preload" means that spring does not need loading as the spring is loaded at all times while it rests on one dog.
By clutch housing tool, do you mean the clutch claw as shown in this video?

I do not have this tool but i was hoping to align the transmission by aligning the centers of these 3 points.

You need this tool to align the dogs, the housing is aligned with the dowels as usual.

The tool moves the springs too so the dogs align.

Thank you. This tools is not readily available. I'd take the chance and align it with hand as shown in my last post. I'll use the dowels to align the engine side. I'll wiggle the crank by +/- 1 degree to squeeze it in. Hope that should do it.

@Xulfiqar bhai im facing some faint vibrations in my Mark II gx110 at slower speed (upto 40 km/h)
I’ve got the drive shift checked for u joints,centre bearing and weight all are apparently okay
Haven’t gotten the diff fluid changed yet
Also which viscosity engine oil should I use ?
•The engine was replaced by the previous owner
• The odo meter is currently at 206k km

Zulfiqar bhai i have a prado 2000 model 1kz and manual transmission. When in motion and change gears like from 2nd to 3rd .3rd to 4th and 4th to fifth there is a big sound dazz which travels through the dash board. Is it problem with the clutch, rear differential, the drive shaft or transmission. Can u guide please.

AOA Bro. need help with one thing. i got a faulty catcon (broken/removed) from the housing on a 2015 civic r18z1.

now i have some options to go ahead with. replace it with a make shift steel mesh (Jali in local terms) life long solution. mostly will make the annoying noise go away however car will remain set at lean air fuel mixture since both oxygen sensors will have same value.

replace with chinese new cat con costing between 20-25k PKR.

replace with kabli japanese used replacement costing between 38-40k PKR.

what do u recommend?

The car will burn it completely lean when the cat is removed? With the cat it runs richer? So the people who remove cats are burning up their engine at low loads? @Xulfiqar please explain.

Take off the suit and visit Scrapyard again and dont hesitate in bargaining

will do that once the lockdown is removed however this is the price range i got from scrapyard and olx. (however as i understand the source for both is same.

the engine wont go lean or rich, it will spew out raw exhaust thats all. And if P0420 is enabled on your car, it will light up the check light.

And sound like a beat up tin can as a bonus.
