Xulfiqar sir i had a query.Can the front wheel bearings of alto works 2016 be changed or do i have to change the whole hub

I am facing low oil pressure after warm up in cultus 2008. Oil strainer, filter are clean. Oil 20w50.
Seems like oil pump issue to me. What should i do? How much is kabli oil pump and labour charges?
Since engine is running fine otherwise, does it need a rebuild?

Is there oil light on warmup or u have actually put the oil pressure gauge to measure it....if that's so how much pressure at idle and how much it maximizes at...and what are Cold and warm pressures

Bhai, first of all change your viscosity back to 5w30 but for that you have to drain old oil + Liqui Moly engine flush oil and then filling of 5w30.

Lesser oil pressure will also cause slight rattling noise.

Anyways, try using 5w30 after flush and hope it will work, your oil pump has gotten weak after pushing so much thick 20w50 oil with the passage of time.

Even after that, if problem don't get resolved, then go for new oil pump but don't use kabli as it will of no use. New Chinese brand will cost you 6k to 9k in different brands with mechanic labour charges at least 3k

Technically that shouod be corrrct,but the local mechan8cs remove the hub and say that the bearing is fixed it cant be replaced so you have to change the whole hub.
And the hub costs 7000 per piece amd no say abt its warranty.So id ratjer put in a bearing worth 2 k

Your mech is lying. I have gotten the bearing of my alto changed several times. Front plus rear. If hub is ok no need to change it just change the bearing. Sometimes mech do push customers to change the complete hub instead of bearing only but don't waste money in replacing a serviceable item (hub)

Yes nowadays mechanics are Lazy and instead of replacing the bearings, they suggested for replacing the whole hub.

Similarly, nowadays mechanics prefer to swap the engine instead of rebuilding the engine as per Factory spec.

They are Google warriors now and easily watch YouTube for replacement /engine swaps so trend has changed in Pakistan now.

Does this vehicle have bolted on front wheel bearing units like you see in rear of corolla etc?

Or it has usual press in variety with hub pressed in center? (Most likely)

The pressing job is super easy with hydraulic press or even with power screw and receiver cups. The only catch nowadays maybe the abs tone ring embedded in bearing seal which requires operator of press to pay attention and install inwards.

I would suggest to find better mechanics, Not morons or simple part swappers.

I regularly change wheel bearings with powerscrew press, tell those google warriors that “amrika mein bhi bearing badli hota hai, poora spindle nahi”

Yeah im pretty sure that he mentioned something about abs magnet which could trigger abs light.

These bearings are removable and so is the hub in center, its a regular easy job for any workshop/mechanic and even DIYer

Are these bearings not available in parts market?

Go ask a lathe machine shop if they have a press and how much they charge for wheel bearing replacement from spindle.

Any mechanic can unbolt this spindle in under 15 minutes and then the machine/lathe shop can replace the bearings. (Idiot mechanics in pk dont own hydraulic presses for some stupid reason)

Dont know the reason why every mechanic says ke bhai jaan bearing ni dalta hub hi badle ga .Dil tang aagia he as if guassian curve doesnt hold in pakistsan.If someone knows a trusty mechanic that can do this job plz refer.In islamabad or rawalpindi

Visit a machine shop and ask about bearing replacement job.

Not to the best of my knowledge, jdm wheel bearings, brake shoes and other small things like a fuel filter etc, are of so many different types in the same year that it's basically luck based if you will find them or not. The basic procedure is to remove the bearings, and go around the market, showing shop keepers the sample hoping to stumble upon one, which again, is a bit rare. Usually one ends up buying hubs from the scrapyard, because these jdms don't have part support

We will have our own press and Lathe setup within a month InshaAllah. This bearing looks replaceable if a new one can be found.
