Manual transmission have significant fuel economy edge over traditional torque converter based automatics. The 6th gear in Altis is just for highway/motorway cruising. Other than that gear ratios are pretty normal.

There is a thread on PakWheels where Mr. Kamran did a full review of the 1.6 manual 6 speed vehicle. In 6th gear, at 120, the rpm is still over 3000, exactly the same as the 4 speed auto, hence both returned the exact same figures.
Usually, you are right, manual has an edge, here it doesnt

Fuel economy doesn't solely depend on rpm.
Manual transmissions weigh less, they have much less parasitic losses, and more gears in a trasmission means it will keep the engine in optimal power band longer.

Are you suggesting that I should stick to my alto vxr for long routes also, which is 40k driven in 2 years. I have maintained it through authorized dealership only.

Also, one thing to add is that in Alto owner's manual it is recommended to use 10w 40 for temperatures between 0 to 45 Celsius. So what to do ....

Nope, they updated the manual, it now says 0w20, it used to say that when they didn't used to sell 0w20, when people starting making too much of a racket. They changed it

Altis 2010 is a 1.8, the manual in that does 14 long, whereas the GLi does 16 long. Locally the altis does 12, GLi 13-14

Yes, but he did a thorough real world test, and both returned the same fuel consumption

That depends on the fact as to how much you know about cars, because if minimal knowledge, then a new car is the way to go. But if you have basic knowledge then a used corolla is preffered as it's more comfortable

@Xulfiqar sir i have 2000 model prado. It is full time 4wd. When i engage 4x4 the jeep becomes very difficult to move and it seems as someone has applied brakes. And when i turn the wheels and try to move the front wheel skid and do not move. Mechanic was unable to diagnose the issue. Plz help. Jeep is manual transmission. Both differentials front and rear are 41:10

If your truck is full time 4WD then how you are engaging 4X4 again? For sure the designers in Toyota must be anxious to know about it and so is Xulfiqar's team.

It is suggested to go through user's manual before your next attempt.

What you are doing is engaging 4 Wheel Low range with diff lock on and the truck is doing very right what you have written.

The diff lock is to be used on unpaved surfaces where lose gravel can provide slip to the wheels. Doing so on paved surfaces you are getting closer to break the front CV joints.

You also need to define terms with a well versed mechanic too.

No. I engage 4H not 4L. But result is same for both. The tire skids when you take a sharp turn. It is not normal.

If it is Ful time 4WD then there is no option of 4H
If its part tine 4WD then you have both options of 4H and 4L

If the Diff Lock is engaged at any position it will give you hard handling as the inner and outer wheels get binded due to higher traction on paved surfaces.

Try on lose gravel/Sand and there won't be any binding effect.

I am saying same, a bit confusion. Options are H, HL and LL. Will try on sand

HL = Transfer case in High with Differential Locked
LL = Tranafer case in Low Range wirh Differential Locked

You will also notice a light as below signaling that Diff is Locked (Usually it is center Diff) For rear Diff there is a puch button to activate)

Kindly suggest me good and budget tyres for corolla 2012.
The imported one are very expensive and Chinese tyres have no specific brand.
I am looking to buy general BG thunder max. Any experience with this tyre for corolla?
Or any other alternative better than thunder max in terms of quality and price.
