Try coffee next time. Red chilli powder on a tablespoon of honey or vinegar, anything which can shock the tubes into opening up. These are only temporary measures advised so you can get to your destination for the required medication.
But there are some foods that you can avoid. Which you will have to find out on your own. Because while some are allergic to certain food items there are others who are allergic to physical activity.
Asthma is a highly individualized condition. What works for one, it's not necessary it will work for another. Doesn't matter if they belong to the same family but sometimes it does.
I can only suggest to find out what you are specifically allergic to; food, environment, temperature etc. There was an uncle I knew who was a perfectly healthy individual but after constructing his house he contracted asthma. Apparently from breathing in all of the paint fumes, wood varnish, saw dust etc. Now he can't go to sleep at night until the temperature is at a specific degree.
For some humidity works, while for others it doesn't.
