Just did the trip in July 2019. Astore, PTDC Rama, Rama Lake, Astore , Gorikot, CHilam Chowk, Sheosar Lake, Chimal CHowk, Minimarg, Domel and Back.. Spread over 3 days!
KKH-Nanga Parbat View Point to AStore Town a new road has been laid out with only a little bittle of trouble due to the heavy equipment on the roads.
BRV NO issues what so ever.
Your BRV is perfect for this entire trip. Just t take it easy on the bumps and Khaddas! Fortunately I was driving a Isuzu Dmax so all was chilled
Regarding permission to Cross Chilam Chowk to drive towards MInimarg you should check with some around more with the Army
I stayed at Astore Inn at Astore Town Which was decent with some clean room. But make sure you have the rates discussed at check in on paper and signed by the chaps. Theres an old man there who tends to forget stuff. LOL!
The road from Astore Town to Rama is being made and has some inclines which can be done on the BRV as well. Hwoever from PTDC Astore to Rama Lake you will need a Local jeep and then an onward trek on foot or horses, which you should discuss there with the locals.
Do Avoid Astore Wazir Guest House which is on route to Rama lake. I stayed there with the worst experience of my life. PTDC astore is an awesome place to stay too.
Wazeer Mahal Hotel Gorikot. Lovely place too and worth staying if you need to.
