Did you notice the sticker on the filter mentioning civic reborn? The word "Reborn" is so popular now that even the part suppliers/manufacturers are using it

the quality seems pathetic. Instead of this one can do a DIY for this.get the black foam used for old window type ACs like General n PEL etc.cut the foam n place it.would hardly cost RS 100 or u can get the filter of split ACs which are made of thin plastic guaze.cut it to the shape of the bracket n ur good to go.this type would be permanent n all u hav 2 do is wash is periodically.this paper type filter mite reduce the airflow but the AC 1s i mentioned wont!

I was surprised to see the quality too while considering the price. but then again something is better then nothing.
And its not at all Honda OEM, they are getting it from some private vendor.

Actually what most people dont know is that proper car AC repair shops were keeping this element (element only) from a long time since the import of JDM vehicles had started, these filters wud require a change in cars like vitz, corolla x,G, accord etc. The element would be cut to the specific size for that car n placed into the holder. The only difference is that someone thought of making a bigger buck out of it n started supplying it in bulk to honda Fort in a ready made shape with the front back harder portions already glued in order for it to be able to fit right in right away into a reborn or city.

Try and find it at good AC repair workshops n u'll be saving a lot by having it made for ur car on the spot.

Important : No the thin foam cant match the filtering capabilities of this element because the foam might be able to filter out bigger particles but it wont filter thinner dust and specially harmful fumes which accumulate inside a car when its parked for long in sunlight or if not opened for days in parked in a garage. As an example i wud remind u of the times when window AC servicing was done n upon taking out the front filter ud see a layer of muddy black thin dust on the front part of the intake around the thermostat portion, ever wonder how id wud get thru? because it could!

i bough the same but in much much better quality from a local ac shop fr 500 for city n 600 for avensis!

+1. The minute particles wont be filtered. i recommended these ideas considering that as honda never provided it n didnt feel like it was nec. So something was better than nothing+the airflow problem if any,wont be disturbed. We should wait for the feedback of the users n then come to concl. As things like filters etc which req periodical replacement are big time businesses for companies. If it were so imp wodnt it be profit some for Atlas? Or is it the more long term profit grabbing by not incl the filter n letting the AC system to get faulty so that we pay loads to Honda after couple of years? Now this is a debatable point!

it doesnt disturb the airfow till its chocked to the last limits, this means if u even clean it just once a year ur good to go.

The reason for them not providing it has never been very clear to me, i mean how much would they have saved? but same goes for other things like, there wasnt a trunk light in city in 09 n 10, it also didnt have a centre console etc, all i can say is i dont get it, maybe someone from HONDA can explain it. MOST probably IMO when they were abt to launch the new city model in Pakistan, they take the foreign model n sit at a computer n go like, okay leme slash this slash that (Coz Pakistani public cant react when we dont give these features so lets slash em), n in this bargain they slashed the trunk light, n everything else too.

i think Atlas Honda dont even fits the Cabibn Filter in new cars... since i dont get the same in my car and placed a new cabin filer for Rs 1200 from a local Ac shop. Kindly confirm is there any Cabin Filter in place in new cars... sine mine got None ?

this is what happens when you have "saith sahab" running the joint who thinks that he is the most genius person who ever lived. You might also be surprised that Atlas Honda are supposed to impregnate the space between the armour bar and the door skin with a foam - its not there. WHY?

its an added expense which no customer will ever complain about - 95% of the regular customers in Pakistan for these cars are spoilt and aloof brats or wannabees ergo they beg to be ripped off.

Rs 1000 is way to expensive and you should be able to find it for Rs 500 from local market. If some knows the shop from where you can buy the filter paper then I think it can be prepared at home.

^^ Yes it can be fitted in 7th Gen. Better buy it from any filter shop for merely 400-500.

Ok a bit old but i have a civic (new) and its cabin filter is not there. Should i get one from Honda dealership ? Do they have it. I got the car from city sales.

I consider Toyota to be more pathetic as neither they give immobilizer nor they give ECU cover.
So engine wash may result in 92k ECU replacement cost or lack of immobilizer can result in total loss in case of theft !! Done deliberately to kick consumers' a$$..

even after buying a brand new car u r bound to spend to complete it.

Any one knows if Honda City Sales has it ? Or could u direct me to a shop which has one of these proper cabin filters, in lahore and preferably near johar town, town ship or garden town area ?

Ok, i checked honda city sales and honda queens road. Honda Queens road say they have their own made filters available for Rs 1000 while city sales say that the price is Rs 2850. I am not yet sure if the city sales are offering OEM ones or just made by themselves. IF they are not original ones than 2850 is too high a price.

Just go for the one costing Rs. 1000. I got it replaced in my car recently. It is a basic filter and when you see it physically you'll be convinced that cheaper or costlier both have the same basic make and function. What I'm trying to say is this is just a filter, not a complex mechanical part with moving objects made of special material under strict quality standards.

And, as in the case of air filter, the existing one in your car may or may not need replacement. Mine was very dirty and was completely choked, so had to be replaced.
