Spoiler, I don't recall if I mentioned this but for a while I sold the A3 to my brother and before I got the bmw 335i f30, I owned the black f30 320i rwd 6speed manual... Just to get my head back in the game... The joys of a lightweight, 6 speed ,rwd 50/50 weight distribution bm
️.
I loved it! Infact jalopnik: https://jalopnik.com/the-six-letters-you-need-to-know-if-you-want-a-bmw-472513915 termed it as the one to get in the f30 gen for fun to drive cheap rwd manuals... Mine was great.... But 190hp 200 tq just didn't do it so I sold it after 4 months, LCI tail lamp swap, 20" 6 series wheels included in the deal. But I did put a lotttt of kms on it. It was splendid on gas too. I avged 6.8-7l/100km routinely on a tank of gas.
Edit: when I say a lot of kms, I mean a fat amount of driving. Close to 21k in 5 months, not 4 like I previously mentioned. The 320i according to the kerb weight sticker in the door jambs was MUCHHH lighter then the A3
go figure: no sunroof, no AWD system, no 8speed autobox, no adaptive dampers, no reverse camera even.
19" vs 20"
Retrofitted tail lamps I did from the 2016-2018 3 series on my 2014 car, didn't think it was interesting enough to cover in detail so I didn't cover it.
