Well first time I had insurance was for 2005 Xli which was financed by UBL and insured by EFU (I had no role in that because banks use their own insurance firms). Experience was great during five years as I only needed it once to repair a hit by an FX over rear fender and I had to pay no depreciation for that as far as I remember. Claim processing by EFU was quick but I had to pay cash and then waited for months to get the check which I had to fetch myself from Saidpur Road, Rawalpindi.
In 2013 I bought a Mehran on cash and then I decided to get it insured and I went for Askari General Insurance (AGICO) recommended by Suzuki Soan Camp GT Road and it was for just 17,000 rupees per year. I kept it insured for two years and needed two claims which were processed quickly .
In 2015 when I bought Altis 1.6 I contacted the same guy in Askari and he offered by 1.98 % rate and at that time insurance companies had made it compulsory to install trackers in Toyotas as there was no immobiliser in them then. But my contact favoured and shooed away guys who had come to install tracker.
Why I don't like tracker?
Well one of my friend had tracker in his car and he was always cursing it that whenever he went to Red Zone his car was stalled by jammers. Also his apartment building was in basement and he used to face problems of no coverage and stalling of car. He is a consultant and once got late for an important meeting and lost a very lucrative client. So he threw the tracker out.
Second thing I once saw in my office tracker being removed from office Corolla and the electrician tapped dozens of wires after tracker removal. I keep my car bone stock as they are less prone to troubles in the long run, that is why I did not go for tracker in 2016 Grande and now this Facelift Grande.
Also on Pakwheels someone reported his ordeal with tracker due to no cell coverage during the holy month of Muharram for several days.
In my personal view it is not worth it to snap your car's wiring for a Chinese tracking device. That is my own view, others might have good experiences with trakcers.
