They asked me to get my car washed as it was a free services in first 1,000 kms inspection. I told them thank you, I do not want to get my car washed and the techs were "What, sir, why it's free." I told them I do it myself

Now I understand after venturing into DIY cleaning and detailing that why @aliusman420 declined the free wash at dealership

Yes once you get this habit you don't trust anyone else with your car, it can be compared to taking care of your own child

It was my first hill drive on an automatic car and I loved it. So smooth and effortless drive of Corolla 1.6 Altis. Went up in Margalla Hills on D and came back on D, thinking I have put in D3 Great grip and control over bends.

I also made another trip to Islamabad in the evening and when returning I found empty stretches on Islamabad Expressway and it easily went to 140 kms, I slowed down it after seeing needle crossing 140 and the car was in total control, seems like it was doing 80 kms/hr.

Exactly!! The drive handling and control is great on motorway even the car went to 140 to 150 km/h itself and we have to slow it down
And tbh in this car speed in city abt 50km/h looks like 30 km/h

Recently I too have become annoyed by manual transmission due to excess traffic on roads. My parents had ordered a 1.3 M Gli and after three months it has finally arrived. Driving a big car in such traffic has become quite a task for me. So we are planning to sell the Gli and instead buy an Altis 1.6 AT. I would appreciate if you would answer these few questions that would help me in coming to a decision of whether I should go ahead with the exchange or not.

1. Does only 4 gears create a noise problem when driving at higher speeds (say, 120 km/h)?
2. How much is the fuel average affected at higher speeds (120 km/h)?
3. What is the fuel average in city with AC on 2 and on highway with AC on 2 as well?
4. What is the fuel average in city and on highway without AC on?
5. Do you think that I should change my car or not?
6. Is Gli AT 1.3 any good in terms of acceleration?

Would really appreciate some honest answers. Thanks.

Should of gone for altis in the first place. Second once one has a car with good AC one would not drive around with AC off some mileage in that terms would not be possible to find out.

Automatic is awesome to drive and I would not look back on manual

Driving a automatic is easy and comfortable, pick up speed it great.

I think you should definitely go for 1.6 automatic

Definitely Automatic is much better .. hate being on manual in traffic jams.. I was scared when i booked a Gli AT ( that it will be under powered).. but after driving its much better than I expected.. keep in mind brother that you'd expect the performance of 1.3 and not expect 1.8 like acceleration.
for me spending 1.5k lacs just for a bigger engine was not worth it .. and after owning 1 gli AT if i go for another 1 it will also be a Gli At and not altis ...

Test drive them both and see how much difference they make to you.. if the bigger engine is worth the 1.5k investment its all up to your needs and satisfaction

No noise at high speeds I have not heard even a whisper at 150 kms/hr

Amazingly the fuel average improves at higher speeds. Car remains in eco zone till 130 km/hr

I always use AC at 3 and getting average of 11 kms/lit in city, driven only 1,435 kms. Not gone on long trip yet

I have heard it's ok
It's not just 300 cc more engine, it's also a dual vvti and in 125,000 extra you not only get a 1.6 1ZR-FE dual VVTI engine but also alloy rims and multimedia with reverse cam.

Ok, ok you can get rims, navigation after market but will have to open dash, door panels and many other plastics to install it and then kharh, kharh, kharh and if installer messed up, which 90 percent do, then you will face many problems down the road.

120 hp vs 84 is always better.

I sprayed Meguiar's quick interior detailer and wiped with a microfiber towel, dash, doors panels, trims, console and then applied a generous amount of Meguiar's Ultimate Protectant.

All new Corolla owners must do it once a month, otherwise the thristy black and greg interior would turn grey this summer.

Just nailed it. I was in the same scenario with almost the same questions. Alhamdolillah, Allah has been very kind and generous for giving me the 1.3 GLi Auto. And inshallah the investment is not going anywhere with the GLi emblem at the back. But make no mistake about it, the 1.6 is also a good performer. But if I had the money, I would have gone the CVT-I Grande way, eyes closed.
