Got the light changed and bumper scratches and tire dirt marks were removed by cutting. The choice was to leave the car for three days at the mercy of paint shop for very very minor scratches which could be taken care in five minutes, or also remove and leave bumper for full repaint and drive the car without it for three four days.
I did not want to repaint the entire bumper for very minute couple of scratches which are not that visible. I told them to first do the cutting and if scratches still remained, I would go for repaint. Thanks God scratches were gone and it looks all good.
AGI (Askari General Insurance) were quick to process the claim. I called them on Sunday to report the incident. They told me that first thing in the morning surveyor will call me and he did. Could not go to workshop on Monday so cancelled the appointment and today after office I went to 3S at 2.30 pm and drove away with all the paper work and jobs done at 3.00 pm.
Tip for fast processing. Alway take two sets of photocopies of insurance policy (payment page), registration with all tokens paid, valid driving licence and CNIC.
I had to pay 5 percent depreciation. This only half tail light costs 17,500 rs. Who said Toyota parts are cheap?
