Because today at 1000km check up I got it adjusted, worker just adjusted tie rod by spanner. He easily set it loose and then rotated and tied it again easily. I said that k loose to nai hai as he didn't applied that much force but he said that it's okay don't worry about that. Apparently steering seems aligned (yet to check on highway).
Before this I thought that steering can only be aligned by taking out steering wheel, then adjusting it and tie it again as in Mehran. What was the procedure carried out on your Corolla in this regard?

Similar procedure as yours. First he turned the wheels full towards left, put the spanner from right wheel well and then turned the wheels towards right full and used the spanner and steering was aligned. May be a new technique

Thanks for clearing it. I asked the similar question to him about removing steering wheel and he replied, 'sir ye computer wali gari hai, isko hum andar say nai chertay ye issi tarah set hoti hai.....:p'

They also said that they have frequent complains like this on this gen but the best part is that they accept every fault when you show them and try to solve it. This warranty thing is not useless as people say.

I just wanna know difference in fuel consumption in city (Rawalpindi and Islamabad to be specific) of 1.6 vs 1.8. Some people including Toyota dealer insist that fuel consumption of 1.8 is better. Thanks. My car is doing 11.6 kms max with AC in slow moving and congested traffic of PWD to F-7 which daily involves (22+22) 44 kms on just Islamabad Expressway. Traffic is also so bad now in whole of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Have driven so far 6,000 kms and not gone on this car on long routes yet.

1.8 is a more fuel efficient engine, esp with CVTi transmission. Even it would be great on six speed manual tranny.

Please let me know what this yellow monster is called and for how much can I get it. Worthy contributors please advise.

It is called wheel clamp. You can buy in online from aliexpress.com . These clamps are used by police to immobilize wrongly parked cars. Shifa International hospital Isl also have them.

Altis 1.8 Cvti is the best bet. If I could pull out couple of lakhs more, I would have denfintely gone for it, but I had stretched my budget from 1.3 Gli already to 1.6.

1.8 is a totally new platform when it comes to engine and Cvti transmissions and is more powerful, yet economical and comfortable with lots of extra features. 11th Gen is great when it comes to comfort.

Do not go for Civic 1.8 as a new model is coming next year and nobody will buy your 9th Gen at good price then. Even 8th Gen faced a loss of 2.50 lakh when 9th gen was launched, but gradually 8th Gen regained resale due to unpopularity of 9th Gen. But 10th Gen Civic looks great and it surely is going to kill both 9th and 8th Gen civics, so stay away from Honda or wait for 10th Gen Civic.

A cost comparison for tax filers:
Gli Auto: 18,78000
Altis 1.6: 20,23000 (+ 145,000)
Altis 1.8: 22,48000 (+ 370,000 from Gli, + 225,000 from Altis 16)

My question: Gli auto is likely to retain its price in next 5-7 years in our market. Would Altis 1.8 be able to get you even half of that extra 370,000 spent say after 5 years?

My opinion: Altis 1.8 is likely to eat up your extra invested 370,000 say in 5 years time. Altis 1.6 is the best option then in view of the fact that Gli auto (though not underpower in new condition as per many contributors) should become a little under power after 100,000 kms after 5 years or so (at least for going to popular hill stations like Murree or even Pir Sohawa etc).
