People spend so much considering the airbags factor and buy these Japanese cars. I have rarely seen airbags working due to the fact no one bothers to wear the seat belt.
Airbags do work even if you don't wear the seatbelt! Curtains are connected with seat belt

The thing is that people want airbags to deploy even if they are not required to deploy! They think on a minor hit they should deploy!
