B.com vs BBA

6. Institutions might make a difference in salary while getting a job. Once in, and you prove your own worth, you can be par with the rest because later salaries are paid according to your grade/post in the organization.

Now for your question, BBA has more than thirty subjects split into semesters. No idea about B.Com.

BBA is of four years and BA is of two. BBA + Masters will take 5 or 5.5 years. B.Com + Masters will take two less. Just keep in mind, while BBA students can get MBA degrees in one year, B.Com students need two.

I had a friend who got kicked out of Air Uni in the first semester. He took admission in BA and by the time his friends cleared their Bachelors only, this fellow was done with his Masters'. Remember that a year can make a lot of difference.

Oh I see. I'm also in air uni. Teachers used to say that you will be kicked out this n that if u didnt get a good gpa.

They have changed a few rules in CA and now CA is easier than ever before.

i want to know which one is easy and which has more scope in future so i get a good job easily:P

yar easy k chakkar main na parru, u should work hard+reference to get a good job. i also did B.com and Alhamdullilah employed in a good firm, dont know about BBA but if u would decide to do B.com then B.com k bad M.Com ya MBA bhi lazmi karna, sirf B.com karna isnt a good idea...

if you can do MBA after your BBA from LUMS, IBA, LSE etc then go for for BBA. other wise stay away from BBA. its my honest advise as once i was also student of MBA. and in my class all the B.com's were enjoying 3+ GPA's and others had to struggle hard for even 2.8

my advise will be to do B.Com , as after B.com you can go for M.com, ACCA, CA, and MBA as well. and one thing i tell you if you do B.com then CA you will have very good chance abroad.

After doing BBA and MBA dont expect pay more then 15 to 20k.

   ACCA is already getting bad name in maekrt of substandard quality of internies who jump here and their just for teh sack of few more bucks just like MBA's

   BS/BSc is tried and tested path of education where at this point of time you cannot go wrong.

now thing is thins you seems like kind of a kid who wants an easy target with big rewards,

Presentations help take your nervousness while facing a crowd out of you. It gives you inner confidence to speak up to anyone without fear and undue anxiety. Someone asked Imran Khan how a cricketer could be so bold to which he replied, 'When i speak to people in a crowd, i look above their heads. They think m talking to the ones behind but in actual fact, m not looking at anyone's face.' To be honest, many of my classmates said if there's anything they do appreciate about our uni, it was this courage it helped them develop.

ACCA part may be right but note, 10 do pass and you've got to be one of them.

Islamabad: Air, Bahria, SZABIST and Comsats. Iqra may be good but is more famous for fashion stuff plus lesser hard work there. Preston's classes are easy - just one period of three hours a day covering a single subject. Fee also is to be paid on monthly installments so it becomes good both ways - you can work also and pay without difficulty. Comsats is good too.

I secured first position in the entrance test of 2005 I guess but there was an issue of equivalence certificate because I did my O. Levels from abroad ..... long story.....so never attended. Would you be knowing Sardar Rohail from BBA and later MS? Saad Asif is another friend and oh yes! Our mighty Punk is also a graduate from there.

Informative first part and yes, this is why i said not to pursue MBA further. First of all, too many out there so not easy to get a job. Once hired, pay isn't much so.........no point.

b com is purely commerce related to accounts

You are missing a key point. Quality of a business administration university stems not merely from the standards of the teachers and the style of teaching and other world class facilities provided, the biggest determinant is the quality of the students going in them in the first place.

Students from all around the world dream of making it to Harvard, MIT, LBS, Cambridge etc by scoring a high GMAT or related scores. The quality of teaching, faculty, teaching techniques, of most of the top notch universities are the same, however the end product of Harvard differs a lot as compared to let's say Texas university MBA.

This situation is more profound in Pakistan. Bahria uni in Islamabad may have better faculty and teachig style than IBA. However for students who get admission in both universities, the choice is simple. They will prefer to go to IBA as they are assured a job even before MBA completion. Most of the Bahria graduates may also get decent jobs, but not ALL of the students who pass out get good jobs. This is not the case with IBA.

And this make sense also. During your matriculation, inter, O and A levels, you have many students around you, some very bright & hardworking, getting 1st, 2nd 3rd positions consistently, and then there are others who can't get positions no matter how hard they try. IBA test is quite difficult than other admission tests. You will hardly see anyone who pass IBA admission test and fail to pass Bahria or CBM or LSE admission test. So the bright students have a better chance to make it to IBA.

No matter how much grooming (or lack thereof) they get during their stay in IBA due to the pathetic teachers quality, they will still, most likely be better when they go in the job market than others who gets admission in let's say Bahria or CBM or LSE, but could not pass IBA or LUMS tests.

The day the bright students will decide after getting admission in both IBA and Bahria or CBM, that they will decline IBA offer and will go to Bahria/CBM instead, only then the quality of students coming out of the institutions can be said to better.

Btw, I'm in job world and the performance of grads from different universities are easily distinguishable. There is a good reason why IBA and LUMS grads are preffered and given such a high salary as compared to others.

In Lahore if you can't make it to LUMS, then second and thrid choices should be LSE and Punjab University's MBA. By the way, Punjab University has named it's business administration department as IBA, but it has no affiliation whatsoever with IBA, Karachi. I'm not sure about UCP being on par with PU, as haven't come across anyone in job field who's from UCP.

Well MAJU is not that well reputed. The faculty are mostly the useless ex-IBA teachers, which had been booted out by the new administration as all those teachers were only good at politics during their lectures. Quality of students is also very low as compared to let's say Bahria or Iqra. CBM, KU and Szabist are obviously better than these universities. I'm not sure MAJU is in Lahore.
