A good 4age BT will give a tough time to B16B, Ive that personal experience four years ago..you can add another few horses with after market upgradations out off BT but B16B is already a complete package.. so comparing BT and B16B is just stupid...yeah if you compare BT 4age to B16A it would take the sh*t outta B16A...BT open throttles is music to ears..4age BT costs 70-80k while B16B cost upto 2 lacs or more...add goodies worth 120000 to BT and see what it does to B16B..

lets take b16a and bt brother

what could you possibly add to bt? headers? exhaust? high compression pistons? agressive cams? the bt is a sort of allmotor from factory it already has all the upgrades even itbs like imagine a motor that has itbs from factory i have also used bt and sorry to say but blacktop isn't that responsive to mods as the b16 is a stage one b16a vs stage one blaktop on the so called high octane we have here sorry to say it will be a though time and i bet you wont see 10 cars gap from either one of them! am not against blacktop i love them.I said all this just for the sake of argument cheers

To be honest, in terms of maximum power, I think both engines would be neck-and-neck, around 240 bhp or thereabouts. However, it's my personal feeling that the B16 will be less stressed at those power levels. Whereas a 4AGE engine will need to be torn down from time to time to verify clearances and dimensions (cylinders, journals, rods, pistons etc.) Also, the big advantage of VTEC is a pretty good spread of power from low to high RPM. With a 4AGE, you're more or less stuck with a lumpy-idling race engine type power delivery. Or put another way, a tuned 4AGE will be only for the race track, whereas you might be able to use a B16 on the road. One thing is sure though, both will need extensive modifications.

ive usually seen b16s losing to 4ages in quarter mile, torque matters. "Vtec is over rated" that is how the debate should end lol, why is that because not many company makes detailed line of parts for Toyotas as do they for hondas. And K20 vs 3sge beams both tuned no1 discussed that.
