btw have anyone tried insulating the hood? does jumbolon work well? what thickness should i use for the hood? Also, i am thinking of pasting the engine-facing side with a sheet of tin foil to help deflect heat from the engine.

dont use underlay under the hood. the heat of the engine will melt it. even the aluminum foil wont protect it. use it inside the cabin on the firewall to keep the engine noise out

any suggestions on what to use for the hood? the dynamat hoodliner is meant for the purpose but obviously its expensive. http://www.dynamat.com/products_automotive_hoodliner.html

my baleno came with a hood liner that looked like a cross between leather and cardboard. look for something similar

given your intent to change to dynamat, it doesnt seem you're too happy with applying underlay... innit?!

btw... heavier materials may affect fuel economy. since my civic doesnt do so well in that dept anyways, i m thinking of applying a thin layer of that chassis coat along with a 5mm layering of jumbolon. really need to kill road noise in my ride.

Molty Foam shop, or any other mattress or foam shop, ask them to give you underlay, there are different thickness levels available.

@Bad_Cheetah bro if you have to tell difference in % so how much sound outer sound and road noice is damped with this DIY of jumbo foam in doors.and how much it affects on bass.is any increase in mid bass.
