ATTOCK: A 20-kilogram bomb that was recovered from a suitcase in a coach of Awam Express standing at the city’s railway station, has been defused in Wednesday’s wee hours.
According to police sources, a suspicious suitcase was found out after passengers disembarked at Attock Railways Station from a bogie of Awam Express plying from Karachi to Peshawar, triggering panic among the commuters.
Before long, Railways and city police put a security cordon around the station and called in the bomb disposal squad, which arrived but two hours late.
The BDS personnel neutralized the 20-kilogram bomb placed in the suitcase.
The official said the bomb was found out from the bogie of people going to a wedding in Hasan Abdal. Police began investigations.
